Resumo: The growing competition in the Brazilian automotive sector requires a reduced lead time for the launch of new models. This causes the need of a system to manage the internal processes as well as those which occur on the interface with the productive chain. The present work deals with a discussion about the degree of automation to be used along the definition of a new production process for the body-in-white. This study is based on the integration of concepts according to the Multi-criteria Decision Aid (MCDA) and on the complex of criteria which are relevant for the production process definition. Furthermore considering the MCDA there are shown the applied processes for manufacturing the Mercedes-Benz A-Class body in the plants of Juiz de Fora, in Brazil and Rastatt, in Germany.

Isto gera a necessidade de um sistema de gestão dos processos internos, bem como dos processos que ocorrem na interface com a cadeia produtiva. O presente trabalho aborda uma discussão quanto ao grau de automação que poderá ser utilizado quando da definição de novos processos para a fabricação da carroçaria bruta de automóveis. Este estudo fundamenta-se na integração de conceitos do Auxílio Multicritério à Decisão (AMD) ao conjunto de critérios que são relevantes para a definição do processo produtivo.
