Resumo: The research entitled "Physical Activities and Dance in Integral Education of Extended Day: educational practices that contribute to the integral development of the student" arises from the experience of implementing the full-time school in the city of Marcelino Ramos. The purpose of the school for integral education includes not only the permanence of the student in the educational institution during the whole day, but the accomplishment of activities that can reinforce and favor the learning, extend the inherent competences to the development of the citizenship, as well as of the student as whole human being in society. The idea of the integral formation of man as a multidimensional being requires an integration of political and pedagogical strategies in order to reevaluate possible changes on educational institutions with the goal to favor the inclusion and integral formation of the children.Based on this idea, the problem to be investigated is: How are proposals for physical activities and dance in the initial years of elementary school in the local schools of full-time and extended hours in the region of Alto Uruguay? What are the contributions of proposals for the integral development of students and how can they be identified by teachers? For this, this research offers a qualitative approach, through the methods descriptive and interpretative, on the collection on data using pre-defined interview and observation done by physical education and dance teachers responsible for these activities in five local schools of the Region of Alto Uruguai, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The National Education Plan (2001-2010) provides for the sequential implementation of daily classes in elementary school for at least seven hours per day. In addition to the Federal Constitution and the LDB, the Statute of the Child and Adolescent (ECA) in its Chapter V, section 53, complements the proposal of compulsory access and permanence in school, recognizing that the integral development of the child and adolescent requires a Specific form of protection, and therefore proposes an articulated and integrated system of attention to this public, of which the school is a part. The full-time school project in the city of Marcelino Ramos started to offer students dance lessons and physical activities. From the introduction of the new classes had improved. Therefore it is important to research in other schools if these improvements are also observed by the teachers. Yet the research is justified by the perspective using it can serve as a source to present new ways of providing a process of teaching and learning that uses physical activities and dance as tools of a conception of integral education. The research is a proposal that the methods here suggested can be the tolls to achieve the statutory purpose at full-time school. Therefore, the research is justified in the interest of the researcher to identify whether teachers of physical education or responsible, in schools with proposals for Integral Education in an extended working day, is clear that his proposal of work is not limited to just quantify the aptitude and The physical and motor condition of its student, but also that in many cases more comprehensively physical activities and dance awaken in the student its integral development.
