Resumo: | When considering the context of formation of West Goiano and the rearrangements in the regional space, it becomes crucial to understand the factors that influenced the formation and dynamics of the urban network in this region. In view of this, this research analyzes the historical processes that led to urban formation and structuring, as well as the redefinitions of centralities, with an emphasis on three centers: Anicuns, São Luís de Montes Belos and Iporá. The methodological procedures were based on bibliographical research, documentary analysis in the Historical Collections of the State of Goiás, the Museu das Bandeiras and the Fundação Frei Simão Dorvi. Documents published by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) were consulted, including the demographic (1920-2022), agricultural (1940-1996), industrial, commercial and services (1970-1980) censuses, studies on Regions of Influence das Cidades (1993, 2007 and 2018) and the encyclopedia of Brazilian municipalities. Planning collections in Goiás (1961-2006) from the Mauro Borges Institute of Statistics and Socioeconomic Studies (IMB) were also analyzed, as well as the creation of tables, graphs and thematic maps that show the results obtained. The narrative unfolds into four chapters. We defend the thesis that, among all the spatial strategies implemented by the State in West Goiás, the construction of the GO-060 highway played a central and decisive role in the region's participation in internal and external markets, and in the rearrangement of centralities, redefining the socioeconomic configuration and space of the region. The establishment of the road axis facilitated the advancement of capitalist production activities, which resulted in an increase in economic activity and the redistribution of demographic flows to the region studied, enabling the emancipation of several districts between the 1950s and 1970s. As a result , the municipalities of São Luís de Montes Belos, Iporá and Anicuns experienced an emblematic process of urbanization in the following decade, becoming privileged locations for the installation of companies dedicated to the production and processing of milk and slaughterhouses. As a result, these cities became important centralities throughout the second half of the 20th century. This trend, however, did not continue into the following century. While São Luís de Montes Belos and Iporá maintained their positions as prominent regional centers, Anicuns did not follow this movement. This scenario is the result of the strategic expansion of services and infrastructure promoted by the State and entrepreneurial agents, aimed at the two urban centers strategically located along GO-060, the main axis of circulation and flow of agricultural production in the region. This means that the way in which the State and economic agents used and continue to use this highway is a fundamental element for understanding the dynamics of the urban network in West Goiás. |

Se defiende la tesis de que, entre todas las estrategias espaciales implementadas por el estado en el Oeste de Goiás, la construcción de la carretera GO-060 jugó un papel central y decisivo en la participación de la región en los mercados internos y externos, y en el reordenamiento de centralidades. redefinir la configuración socioeconómica y el espacio de la región. Este escenario es resultado de la ampliación estratégica de servicios e infraestructuras impulsada por el estado y los agentes empresariales, dirigida a los dos núcleos urbanos estratégicamente ubicados a lo largo de la GO-060, principal eje de circulación y flujo de la producción agrícola de la región. Esto significa que la forma en que el estado y los agentes económicos utilizaron y siguen utilizando esta carretera es un elemento fundamental para comprender la dinámica de la red urbana en el Oeste de Goiás.Ao considerar o contexto de formação do Oeste Goiano e os rearranjos no espaço regional, torna-se crucial compreender os fatores que influenciaram a formação e a dinâmica da rede urbana na região. Em vista disso, esta pesquisa analisa os processos históricos que levaram à formação e à estruturação urbana, bem como às redefinições de centralidades, com ênfase em três centros: Anicuns, São Luís de Montes Belos e Iporá. Os procedimentos metodológicos basearam-se em pesquisas bibliográficas, análises documentais e nos Acervos Históricos do estado de Goiás, do Museu das Bandeiras e da Fundação Frei Simão Dorvi. Foram consultados documentos publicados pelo Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE), incluindo os censos demográfico (1920-2022), agropecuário (1940-1996), industrial, comercial e de serviços (1970-1980), os estudos sobre Regiões de Influência das Cidades (1993, 2007 e 2018) e a enciclopédia dos municípios brasileiros. Também foram analisadas as coletâneas de planejamento em Goiás (1961-2006), do Instituto Mauro Borges de Estatísticas e Estudos Socioeconômicos (IMB), bem como a elaboração de tabelas, gráficos e mapas temáticos que mostram os resultados obtidos. A argumentação se desdobra em quatro capítulos. Defende-se a tese de que, entre todas as estratégias espaciais implementadas pelo estado no Oeste Goiano, a construção da rodovia GO-060, desempenhou papel central e decisivo na participação da região nos mercados interno e externo, bem como no rearranjo das centralidades, redefinindo a configuração socioeconômica e espacial da região. O estabelecimento do eixo viário facilitou o avanço das atividades capitalistas de produção, o que resultou em um aumento na atividade econômica e na redistribuição dos fluxos demográficos para a região estudada, possibilitando a emancipação de diversos distritos entre as décadas de 1950 e 1970. Como resultado, os municípios de São Luís de Montes Belos, Iporá e Anicuns experimentaram emblemático processo de urbanização na década seguinte, tornando-se locais privilegiados para a instalação de empresas dedicadas à produção e ao processamento de leite e frigoríficos. Com isso, essas cidades se tornaram importantes centralidades ao longo da segunda metade do século XX. Essa tendência, contudo, não se perpetuou no século seguinte. Enquanto São Luís de Montes Belos e Iporá mantiveram suas posições como proeminentes centralidades regionais, Anicuns não acompanhou esse movimento. Esse cenário é resultado da estratégica expansão de serviços e infraestrutura promovida pelo estado e pelos agentes empreendedores, direcionada aos dois centros urbanos estrategicamente situados ao longo da GO-060, principal eixo de circulação e de escoamento da produção agropecuária da região. As a result , the municipalities of São Luís de Montes Belos, Iporá and Anicuns experienced an emblematic process of urbanization in the following decade, becoming privileged locations for the installation of companies dedicated to the production and processing of milk and slaughterhouses. As a result, these cities became important centralities throughout the second half of the 20th century. This trend, however, did not continue into the following century. While São Luís de Montes Belos and Iporá maintained their positions as prominent regional centers, Anicuns did not follow this movement. This scenario is the result of the strategic expansion of services and infrastructure promoted by the State and entrepreneurial agents, aimed at the two urban centers strategically located along GO-060, the main axis of circulation and flow of agricultural production in the region. This means that the way in which the State and economic agents used and continue to use this highway is a fundamental element for understanding the dynamics of the urban network in West Goiás. |
