Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, de natureza quantitativa desenvolvido junto a 169 agentes comunitários de saúde de Centros de Saúde da Família da Região Noroeste do município de Goiânia, Goiás. A coleta dos dados foi precedida de oficinas educativas sobre segurança do paciente, direcionada aos profissionais que compunham o universo amostral, para o que foi utilizado um instrumento autoaplicável para avaliação da percepção sobre segurança do paciente. Os dados foram sistematizados por meio de análises descritiva e temática. Dos participantes, 93,5% eram do sexo feminino; a idade variou de 19 a 63 anos; 63,3% possuíam o ensino médio completo. O tempo de atuação como agente comunitário de saúde variou de um mês a 16 anos; 73% já tinham ouvido falar sobre segurança do paciente e 96% se sentiam seguros com a qualidade das informações prestadas aos usuários. Quanto ao conhecimento de ocorrência de incidentes nas unidades de saúde, somente 37% identificaram a sua ocorrência. As principais causas dos incidentes, na percepção desta amostra, referem-se à falta de comunicação; erros de medicação e queda do paciente. O perfil de usuários que mais solicita informação foram, respectivamente, os idosos, hipertensos, diabéticos e gestantes. Os ACS consideraram a temática segurança do paciente importante para a sua qualificação e melhoria do atendimento junto aos usuários. O estudo aponta para a necessidade de socialização dessa abordagem junto aos profissionais das demais equipes de saúde, com vistas à ampliação da sua qualificação e transferência do conhecimento no atendimento à população, o que tem a capacidade de colaborar com a prevenção de incidentes. No entanto se faz necessária a ampliação de estratégias educativas como um caminho ao alcance do atendimento em saúde, qualificado e seguro, como preconiza o sistema de saúde brasileiro.application/pdfhttp://repositorio.bc.ufg.br/tede/retrieve/24804/Disserta%c3%a7%c3%a3o%20-%20Luiz%20Henrique%20Fernandes%20Musmanno%20-%202015.pdf.jpgporUniversidade Federal de GoiásPrograma de Pós-graduação em Saúde Coletiva (PRPG)UFGBrasilPró-Reitoria de Pós-graduação (PRPG)http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessAtenção primária em saúdeAgentes comunitários de saúdeSegurança do pacienteProfissionais de saúdePrimary health careCommunity health agentsPatient safetyHealth professionalsCIENCIAS DA SAUDE::SAUDE COLETIVAPercepções dos agentes comunitários de saúde sobre a segurança do pacientePerceptions of community health agents on patient safetyinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesis-5225680170177467598600600600-264539188392646063-6173167103754495199reponame:Repositório Institucional da UFGinstname:Universidade Federal de Goiás (UFG)instacron:UFGLICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
