Resumo: This research demonstrates, based on bibliographical and journalistic documentation and field research, how the spaces acquired by the Federal and State Government, to settle families demanding land in the Itamarati I and II settlements, were transformed with family farming. This occurred in small lots and also in the old structures of the Vilas, and in both settlements, where settled families started to live, building new Senses and Meanings on those spaces. It was through the villages that we followed the path of research, investigating the senses and meanings attributed to the heritage structure, seeking to understand how the families settled in that social and productive context, began to relate to the buildings and artifacts that existed there. Thus, the research addressed the creation and recreation of the urban space of both Vilas – Vila do Secador and Agrovila. However, we did not stop walking the paths of the structure of the lots, built with the courage of many campers and non-campers, with the mediation of INCRA. Through interviews with settlers, INCRA technicians and teachers from the settlement, associating the recording of images and the cataloging of documents in newspapers, we demonstrate the changes that occurred with the Agrarian Reform, this one promoted by the State, and with the pressure of the social movements with the Federal and State Governments. With the study, we concluded that the settled families and residents of the villages of Secador and Agrovila gave new meaning to the heritage they found in the place, doing according to their needs, as small producers of family agriculture. They turned houses into dwellings; they reformed the interior of workshops that previously repaired machines, so that in that large pavilion they could house schools for lively and creative children, building knowledge; changed the internal division of office buildings, starting to house care for their health demands, technical assistance, social assistance, among others. Therefore, they imprinted in the place, new senses and new meanings.

Therefore, they imprinted in the place, new senses and new meanings. Portanto, imprimiram no lugar, novos sentidos e novos significados.Universidade Federal da Grande DouradosBrasilFaculdade de Ciências HumanasPrograma de pós-graduação em SociologiaUFGDMenegat, Alzira Saletehttp://lattes.cnpq.br/8125859341239167Farias, Marisa de Fátima Lomba deMoura, Jeanne Brito deFaisting, André LuísAguiar, Marcio MucédulaDobre, Antonio Carlos2025-04-11T19:46:57Z2023-07-252025-04-11T19:46:57Z2023-07-13info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisDOBRE, A.
