Resumo: The anticipation of grafting in the cultivation of passion fruit and use of rootstocks tolerant to soil-borne pathogens has as main objective plant reduce problems and increase the longevity of the crop. The first objective of the work was to study different methods of execution and ages of grafting on seedlings of yellow passion about the sweet passion fruit. The experimental design was randomized blocks in factorial scheme 2 (grafting for cleft and simple English) x 4 (ages 15 grafting, 25, 35 and 45 days after seedling emergence). The grafts were taken every ten days, thirty days after the grafts were evaluated characteristics: percentage of attachment of the crown and rootstock, seedling height (cm), number of leaves and stem diameter (mm) 1 cm above the grafted area. So much for cleft grafting, as for simple English, the ideal age for grafting on seedlings of sweet passion fruit was at 15 days after emergence, with 98% of fixation. The second objective of the study was to assess the viability of Passiflora alata and Passiflora cincinnata as rootstocks for passion flowers - yellow, purple and sweet. The experimental design was randomized blocks in factorial scheme 2 x 3, two rootstocks Passiflora alata and cincinnata and three types of hearts, the yellow passion fruit, sweet and purple. The characteristics evaluated 45 days after the grafts were of graft fixation, seedling height (cm) diameter and the rootstock (mm), root length (cm), root dry weight and shoot (g).The Passiflora cincinnata when used as rootstock for the yellow passion fruit, sweet and purple showed lower fruit setting and development of seedlings, showing imcompatibility.
