Resumo: The seed treatment with insecticides has been used as a preventive tool to avoid possible losses arising from the action of soil pests and shoot. Although this method has been considered very efficient, some products can cause phytotoxic problems soon after treatment and throughout the storage. The objective was to evaluate the effects of different insecticides, indicated for corn, on the physiological quality over 12 months of storage in two environments (cold conditioned and non air conditioned). The seeds were treated with recommendation of the manufacturer, with products Tiametoxan, Thiodicarb, Imidacloprid and water (check) and they were stored in a controlled environment (cold) and uncontrolled (warehouse). The samples were subjected to tests of germination, the test cold and emergency immediately after treatment and every 3 months. The experiment was conducted under DIC with 4 replicates in the Laboratory of Seeds / UFLA. Since the beginning of the storage, the Imidacloprid showed to be phytotoxic to corn seeds, and this fact was accentuated with the storage period. After 12 months of storage, the products Tiametoxan and Thiodicarb did not affect the physiological quality in the controlled environment (cold), however, in the environment without control (warehouse), the quality was affected for all products and more specific to the Imidacloprid. The storage under controlled conditions was essential for maintaining the quality and longevity of seeds (treated or not).

Apesar de o método ser considerado muito eficiente, alguns dos produtos pode causar problemas de fitotoxidez logo após o tratamento e ao longo do armazenamento. Assim, objetivou-se avaliar os efeitos de diferentes inseticidas, indicados para a cultura do milho, sobre a qualidade fisiológica ao longo de 12 meses de armazenamento, em dois ambientes. As sementes foram tratadas, segundo recomendação do fabricante, com os produtos Tiamethoxan, Tiodicarb, Imidacloprid e água (testemunha) foram armazenadas em ambiente controlado (câmara fria) e não controlado (armazém convencional). As sementes foram submetidas aos testes de germinação, de frio e emergência, em bandeja imediatamente após o tratamento e a cada 3 meses. O experimento foi conduzido em DIC com 4 repetições no Setor de Sementes/UFLA. Desde o início do armazenamento, o produto Imidacloprid causou efeito fitotóxico às sementes de milho, fato acentuado com o período de armazenamento. Após 12 meses de armazenamento, os produtos Tiametoxan e Tiodicarb não afetaram a qualidade fisiológica em ambiente controlado (câmara fria), no entanto, em ambiente sem controle (armazém), a qualidade foi afetada por todos os produtos e de forma mais acentuada para o Imidacloprid.
