No Experimento I, 80 suínos machos castrados e fêmeas (peso inicial = 9,1 ± 1,2 kg e final de 21,5 ± 4,8 kg), mestiços (Landrace x Large White), desmamados aos 28 dias, foram alojados em grupos de dois na creche, em um delineamento em blocos casualizados (DBC) no tempo de início do período experimental em fatorial 2x4 (PB x LISD) com cinco repetições e dois animais por unidade experimental, para avaliar o desempenho de animais submetidos durante 35 dias a rações para leitões na fase inicial, formuladas com dois níveis de PB (16 e 18%) e quatro níveis de lisina digestível verdadeira (0,7; 0,9; 1,1 e 1,3%), com correção dos valores de metionina e treonina, de acordo com o conceito de proteína ideal. Ao final do período experimental, um animal de cada baia foi sacrificado para mensuração da uréia plasmática, peso relativo do fígado, pâncreas e rins, pH do estômago e ceco, integridade das vilosidades e profundidade das criptas do jejuno, composição corporal e taxa de deposição de proteína e lipídeos da carcaça. No Experimento II, 32 suínos machos castrados (peso inicial = 25 ± 1,3 kg), provenientes do experimento anterior, foram alojados em gaiolas de metabolismo em um DBC no tempo em fatorial 2x4 (PB x LISD), com quatro repetições e um animal por unidade experimental, para avaliar o balanço de N das rações estabelecidas anteriormente. Houve efeito da interação PB x LISD para níveis de uréia plasmática (P<0,05), que diminuiu até os níveis de 1,08 e 1,0% LISD respectivamente em rações com 18 e 16% PB; para % de proteína e lipídios na carcaça, que aumentaram (P<0,01) até os níveis de 1,01 e 0,99% LISD, em rações com 18% e 16% PB; para taxa de deposição de proteína na carcaça (P<0,01), que aumentou até o nível de 1,02% LISD em rações com 18% PB; e para taxa de deposição de lipídios (P<0,05), que aumentou até 1,08 e 1,0% LISD para rações com 18 e 16% PB respectivamente. Para níveis de LISD, independente dos níveis de PB, houve efeito quadrático no ganho de peso (P<0,01), que aumentou até o nível de 1,04% LISD; efeito quadrático para conversão alimentar (P<0,05), que diminuiu até o nível de 1,09% LISD; efeito linear crescente para consumo de lisina (P<0,01) e efeito linear decrescente para eficiência de utilização de lisina (P<0,01). Não houve diferenças (P>0,05) para consumo de ração, pH estomacal e cecal, peso relativo do fígado, pâncreas e rins, altura de vilosidades (V), profundidade de criptas (C) e relação V:C. Para as variáveis do ensaio de metabolismo (experimento II), não houve efeito da interação PB x LISD nas variáveis estudadas (P>0,05). Constatou-se efeito linear crescente (P<0,01) dos níveis de lisina para N ingerido e efeito quadrático (P<0,01) para N retido, que aumentou até o nível de 1,05% LISD e porcentagem de N retido que foi absorvido, que aumentou até 1,06% LISD. Houve efeito quadrático (P<0,01) para N excretado na urina, cuja relação NE:NT que resultou em menor excreção foi de 0,42 e 0,41, para rações contendo 16 e 18% PB respectivamente. Não houve efeito dos níveis de LISD e PB no N absorvido e das relações NE:NT no N excretado nas fezes. Conclui-se que os níveis de 1,05% de LISD para suínos na fase inicial devem ser mantidos ao se formular dietas com níveis reduzidos de PB, baseando-se no conceito de proteína ideal e que a manipulação dos níveis desses nutrientes pode reduzir a excreção de N de 20 a 25% nos dejetos. A relação ótima NE:NT obtida para esse nível de lisina recomendado foi de 0,41 e 0,42 para rações com 18 e 16%, respectivamente.Two experiments were conducted in de Animal Science Department at UFLA, to evaluate the levels of lysine digestible (LYSD) and crude protein (CP) in diets and to verify the influence of the different relations between essential nitrogen : total nitrogen (EN:TN) in pollution power of dejects of the piglets. In Experiment I, 83 barrows and females (initial weight = 9,1 kg ± 1.2 kg and final weight = 21,5 ± 4.8 kg), crossbred (Landrace x Large White), weaned at 28 days old, were allotted in groups of two in nursery in randomized block design (RBD) in time of initial of the experimental period, in 2x4 factorial scheme (CP x LYSD) with five repetitions and two animals per experimental unit for evaluate the performance of the animals submitted during 35 days in rations for piglets formultated with two levels of CP (16 and 18%) and four levels of true digestible lysine (0,7; 0,9; 1,1 and 1,3%) being corrected the values for metionine and treonine following the ideal protein concept. At final experimental period, one animal of each stall was sacrificed for to evaluate the plasmatic urea, relative weight of the liver, pancreas and kidneys, pH of stomach and cecum contents, integrity of villous and crypts depth of jejune, corporal composition and protein and lipid accretion in carcass. In the Experiment II, 32 barrows (initial weight = 25 ± 1,3 kg) proceeding from previous experiment, were allotted in metabolism cages in RBD in time, in 2x4 factorial scheme (CP x LYSD) with four repetitions and one animal for experimental unit for to evaluate the nitrogen balance of experimental rations established previously. There was effect of LYS x CP interactions for plasmatic urea levels (P<0,05), that decreased until 1,08 and 1,0% LYSD respectively in rations with 18 and 16% CP; for % of protein and lipid in carcass, that increased (P<0,01) until 1,01 and 0,99% LYSD in rations with 16 and 18% respectively; for protein tax deposition in carcass (P<0,01), that increased until 1,02% LYSD in rations with 18% CP; and lipids tax deposition (P<0,05), that increased until 1,08 and 1,0% LYSD for rations with 18 and 16% CP respectively. For LYSD levels, independent of the CP levels, there was quadratic effect in weight gain (P<0,01), that increased until 1,04% LYSD; quadratic effect for feed:gain (P<0,05), that decreased until 1,09% LYSD; crescent linear effect for lysine consume (P<0,01) and decrease linear (P<0,01) effect for efficiency of lysine utilization (lysine:weight gain ratio). There was not differences (P>0,05) for feed intake, pH of stomach and cecum contents, relative weight of the liver, pancreas and kidneys, height of villous (V), crypts depth (C) and V:C relation. For the variables in metabolism (experiment II), there was not have effect of the LYSD x CP interactions in the studied variables (P>0,05). It was verified crescent linear effect (P<0,01) of LYSD levels for N intake and quadratic effect (P<0,01) for N retained that increased until 1,05% LYSD and percentage of N retained that was absorbed, that increased until 1,06% LYSD. There was quadratic effect (P<0,01) for N excreted in urine, whose NE:NT ratio that provided lesser excretion was of 0,42 and 0,41, for rations with 16 and 18% CP, respectively. There was not effect of the LYSD and CP levels in N absorbed and the NE:NT ratio in N excreted in feces. It is conclude that the levels of 1,05% LYSD for piglets must be kept to if formulate diets with reduced levels of CP, basing on the ideal protein concept and that the manipulation of the levels of these nutrients can reduce the excretion of N of 20 at 25% in dejects.
