Resumo: | Technology Roadmapping (TRM) is a technological prospection method that discusses and selects a set of technologies in order to assist development of products and services that are required for achieving long-term goals of a company, through analysis of domestic needs and perspectives on the market. The result from application of TRM method is a technology map that allows visualization of actions that should be undertaken to reach the desired position. It has three layers that represent three perspectives: market, product, and/or service and technology. Software Roadmapping (SRM) is an adaptation of TRM to the particularities of software developers´ organizations, proposed by Fleury (2007), that attach to the technological layer activities for development and management of software, trying to align strategic goals with software productive process. However, this customization of TRM in SRM only included the change of the roadmap content, leaving aside process, time and structure. This study aimed to fill some of these gaps by proposing a structured set of guidelines for the effective application of TRM method in software development organizations, by using Roadmapping Software architecture. By basing on action research, case studies and focus groups, a study and critical analysis of the SRM proposal was realized, together with implementation of this proposal in a mining software development organization, and, finally, development of guideline set, which ranges from preliminary questions, as study of the target audience of the software system developed, to details about the procedure, as the division of workshop on technology in two parts, and elaboration of questions concerning development of software lifecycle. Using these guidelines, we could find a better way to conduct technological prospection in a software developer organization, considering the needs of the organization, and exploring the potential of Roadmapping Software. |

O resultado da aplicação do método TRM é um mapa tecnológico que permite a visualização das ações que devem ser realizadas para se chegar ao posicionamento desejado. Ele é formado por três camadas, representando três perspectivas: mercado, produto e ou serviço e tecnologia. O Software Roadmapping (SRM) é uma adaptação do TRM às particularidades de organizações desenvolvedoras de software, proposta por Fleury (2007), que inclui, na camada de tecnologia, as atividades de desenvolvimento e gerenciamento de software, na tentativa de alinhar os objetivos estratégicos ao processo produtivo dessas empresas. Contudo, essa customização do TRM em SRM contemplou apenas a alteração do conteúdo do roadmap, deixando de lado o processo, o tempo e a estrutura. Este trabalho foi realizado com o objetivo de preencher algumas dessas lacunas, propondo um conjunto estruturado de diretrizes para a efetiva aplicação do método TRM em organizações de desenvolvimento de software, utilizando a arquitetura Software Roadmapping. Fundamentado em pesquisa-ação, estudo de caso e grupos de foco, realizaram-se estudo e análise crítica da proposta SRM, implementação desta proposta em uma organização de desenvolvimento de software para mineração e, finalmente, elaboração do conjunto de diretrizes. Estas diretrizes abrangem desde questões preliminares, como o estudo do público-alvo do sistema de software desenvolvido, até detalhes sobre a aplicação do processo, como a divisão do workshop de tecnologia em dois e a elaboração de questões relativas ao ciclo de vida do software.
