Resumo: This study is presented in the form of three papers, organized around the theoretical foundations of cooperatives management. The methodology consisted of literature´s research and started from the index formulation as the working hypothesis (ECO, 1988).The first article thematizes the pioneer conception of cooperative´s management in the main utopian socialists (Saint-Simon, Charles Fourier and Robert Owen), looking to contribute to fulfill a gap in the theoretical studies of cooperatives in Brazil dominated by technical and operational studies, and at least as a case study. The ideas of utopian socialists inaugurated a theoretical support for the cooperatives management designed not only for immediate purposes, but to serve as a paradigm that served to change the general social setting. In addition to reflect the utopic contributions to the modern doctrine of cooperatives, it is concluded that the administrative and organizational principles of the utopians preceded in concept and time the classical theory of Scientific Management. The general aim of the second article was to analyze the cooperative organization allowing to identify the theoretical categories that are subjacent in the economic-financial, institutional-administrative and socio-political dimensions. It was noticed that the categories should not be considered just so tight or polarized, because they are often interconnected in a same reality. As in the previous study it´s perceived the action of different rationalities, evidencing that cooperatives are often uncharacterized in their principles and are qualified as a mere sector of the economy, relegating the analysis of social issues to a lower level. The third article thematizes the theoretical interfaces between cooperative, public and social management. In addressing the social-organizational characteristics of each management, they are situated in the context of objective possibilities (RAMOS, 2009), showing their convergence to a diverse rationality of the market, which becomes clearer by deepening the interfaces, by the features that assume in them the public interest and democracy. In the meantime the public interest is adjectivated as well understood (TOCQUEVILLE, 1987). The deliberative democracy is associated as a second important category in interface. In the union of the three management perspectives common points are found, and depending on the way are worked, prospect the reduction of social and economic inequalities, being able to contribute to a process of emancipation. It is evident the need to build new theories such as the quest for consolidation of social management as a field of studies (CANÇADO and PEREIRA, 2010). Because of the obtained results it is hoped that in each one of the articles their objectives were integrally reached, remaining for further studies a possible theoretical and practical interaction.
