Motor development (MD) is a sequential, continuous, and age-related process through which an individual progresses from simple, disorganized, and unskilled movements to highly complex and organized motor skills, oriented toward cultural demands, and skill adjustments that follow growth. This continuous process results from the interaction between the individual's constitution and the environment, both undergoing dynamic changes. Fundamental motor skills (FMS) are considered the basic skills that constitute the prerequisites for performing specialized movement sequences necessary for adequate participation in various physical activities, both organized and non-organized, throughout the developmental stages of children, adolescents, and adults. Failure to acquire these skills results in difficulties that persist into adulthood, with negative effects on health and social aspects. Considering the importance of fully promoting FMS, intervention programs can present viable solutions for this purpose. Therefore, it is necessary to understand effective and feasible intervention programs. The objective of this study was to identify, assess, and synthesize rigorously and transparently the existing studies on intervention programs in FMS development, using the Test of Gross Motor Development, versions 2 and 3 (TGMD2 and TGMD3) as a tool for evaluating MD, through a systematic review. The specific objective was the development of an inventory of intervention programs in MD.
