This study aims to analyze the work Poesia que Transforma (Poetry that Transforms) (2018), by Bráulio Bessa. This research explores the intersection between cordel literature and selfhelp literature. Specifically, this research aims to reflect upon the transformation proposed by Bráulio Bessa's poetry, as well as to identify, within the work, the poems that offer a deeper reflection on identity. This study also seeks to understand the transformations that the work Poesia que Transforma provokes, both in the author himself and in the lives of his readers. In this context, we are guided by the following research questions: What is the transformation proposed by Bráulio Bessa? What are the influences of cordel literature and self-help literature present in the work? Methodologically, this study is classified as basic research and utilizes a bibliographic approach. The theoretical framework draws upon studies by Haurélio (2013), Proença (1982), Andrade (2021), Rüdiger (2010), Reis (2013), Eagleton (2006), Compagnon (2009), Morin (2002), and Friedrich (1978), among others. Based on these contributions, the findings reveal how Bessa's poetry combines the cordel tradition with the contemporary aspect of self-help, and how Bráulio Bessa builds a bridge between Northeastern popular wisdom and the emotional demands of the contemporary subject.
