Resumo: The present work carried out in the Mathematics in National Network - PROFMAT, aims to present in a contextualized and didactic way a brief study on Complex Numbers, through the resolution of algebraic equations with a focus on the History of Mathematics, due to its great importance in teaching and learning and later we define the set of complex numbers with their operations, properties and applications. Ending with the study of algebraic equations emphasizing theorems, corollaries and propositions.
