Resumo: This work, inserted in the Research Line Historical knowledge in the school space, presents a significant research on school practice and didactic methodologies in the teaching of History that resulted in the elaboration of the Infographic Catalog entitled The trafficking of enslaved Africans to Maranhão - 1755 to 1850, as an educational product aimed at teaching History in the 7th year of basic education, considering the content of the national and regional curriculum of this school year. In view of the proposal to develop a catalog of infographics that contribute both to the implementation of Law No. 10.639/2003 and to expand the repertoire of teaching materials in the teaching of History of Maranhão, the practice of teachers in History classes on slavery in Brazil is analyzed from the perspective of bibliographical references that dialogue with the challenges in the use of teaching methodologies and their innovations, especially with multimodal teaching resources. In addition, the proposal is to legitimize the potential of infographics as a multimodal and teaching tool in the practice of teaching History and to analyze recent historiographical narratives on the trafficking of Africans to Maranhão in the colonial and imperial periods, in order to observe the impacts generated in the most sensitive structural relations of current Maranhão society, such as inequalities and racism, based on social formation. The proposal becomes legitimate in the sense of contributing with an updated teaching resource for the teaching of History, expanding the possibilities in teaching practice, since the lack of more specific teaching resources for the teaching of History of Maranhão is a reality, mainly in public schools. The methodology used in this work contemplated the survey of historiographical research that supported both the methodological issues of teaching History, in the understanding of the challenges and characteristics of teaching practice in teaching History, and those that permeated the historical content of the infographics, with historiographical research and narratives. Important developments of multimodal teaching resources on the theme of colonialist slavery in Brazil were highlighted, and it was also possible to identify several potential uses of infographics in the school context. Therefore, it is expected that this work, together with the catalog of infographics presented, will be assessed under a critical and proactive eye for its use or even inspiration in the development of educational products for teaching History, especially the History of Maranhão.

Submitted by Maria Aparecida (cidazen@gmail.com) on 2025-08-22T11:23:32Z No. of bitstreams: 1 JANY KERLY MENDES CORRÊA.pdf: 8173382 bytes, checksum: 84725f7e6b300a0a7312802aed078926 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2025-08-22T11:23:32Z (GMT).
