Resumo: | This work is about analyzing the artistic elaboration of basketry of the indigenous people Canela Ramkoamekrá, because this kowledge could be a better way to help us understand the contempo rary indegenous art scene in Brazil.The methods employed were bibliographic, documentary, exploratory, interdisciplinary, and qualitative research. It was used the visual record of the Canela Ramkokamekrá basketry collection at the Maranhão Natural History and Archeology Research Center.The aim is to analyze how the artistic elaboration of indigenous Canela Ramkokamekrá basketry can help us understand their culture. Authors such as Darcy Ribeiro (2021; 2017), Berta Ribeiro (1987;1980), Crocker(1990), Nimuendajú (1946), Menendez (2011;2019;2021), Boas (2015), Rolande (2013), Oliveira (2018), Krenak(2019), present theoretical conceptions about indigenous people that can help to build a profile of the Canela people and their culture and it also helps to understand the scene of contemporary indigenous art in Brazil through the exhibitions " Véxoa: Nós sabemos", "Móquém Surarî, and the 34th " Bienal de São Paulo". The authors studied in the other stage of research are: Berbert (2021), Bienal (2021),Dinato (2019), Esbell (2018), Baniwa (2022), Gell (2021), Goldstein (2021), Krenak (2022), Lagrou (2009), Marques (2018), Moquem (2021),Oliveira (2022), Terena(2020;2021).We conclused that basketry of indigenous people was not exposed at recent art events, exhibitions and museums. |

A pesquisa bibliográfica e documental foi realizada de forma exploratória, interdisciplinar de caráter qualitativo, sobre a arte dos indígenas Canela Ramkokamekrá no contexto da produção de cestaria, com uso do registro visual do acervo de cestaria do Centro de Pesquisa de História Natural e Arqueologia do Maranhão. Objetiva-se analisar de que modo a produção artística da cestaria indígena Canela Ramkokamekrá pode nos ajudar a compreender a cultura dos povos Canela. Os autores como Darcy Ribeiro (2021; 2017), Berta Ribeiro (1987; 1980), Crocker (1990), Nimuendajú (1946), Menendez (2011;2019;2021), Boas (2015), Rolande (2013), Oliveira (2018), Krenak (2019), abordam as concepções teóricas sobre os indígenas que ajudam a construir um repertório sobre a cultura dos Canela, o que também ajuda a entender o cenário da arte indígena contemporânea no Brasil através das exposições Véxoa: Nós sabemos, Moquém Surarî e a 34 Bienal de São Paulo. Essa etapa da pesquisa é aprofundada por meio de autores como Berbert (2021), Bienal (2021), Dinato (2019), Esbell (2018), Baniwa (2022), Gell (2021), Goldstein (2021), Krenak (2022), Lagrou (2009), Marques (2018), Móquem (2021), Oliveira (2022),Terena (2020;2021).
