Resumo: | The migration of Brazilians to other countries has become an important topic in recent years mainly due to economic globalization, a complex phenomenon in its intensity and diversification. Brazil has been a typical recipient country of immigrants until the 1990s and then became a significant region of origin for international migrants. The mobility between countries requires an effort of adaptation by individuals and their families. The growing number of studies on the topic of international migration of Brazilians, with special emphasis on organizational studies and employment relations, shows the relevance of the subject. The difficulty of adapting family life in relation to a new culture and the problems of dual career, has been highlighted as the most problematic aspects. Nowadays, after the booming internet phenomenon, the process of cultural adaptation of immigrant families is very different from previous years and needs to be understood in all its complexity. The possibility of real-time communication and sharing of everyday life in different social networks, have substantially transformed the immigrant experience in their new cultural environment. In the digital world by the web 2.0, social networking sites has become a reality in bringing a new form of sociability in which the nature of these highly interconnected networks has dramatically changed the model of social interaction. Through a qualitative approach, this research seeks to understand how sharing of everyday life through electronic diaries online can contribute to the process of cultural adaptation and assimilation of Brazilians immigrants living abroad due to work .This research will also look at how day to day social behaviour has been affected by the digital world, a new field of study that is gaining sociological interest. This study was supported by REUNI CNPq Scholarship Program. |
