Resumo: This dissertation investigates the poetry of Roberto Piva based on the hypothesis that his writing operates as a form of healing, breaking through the psychic and bodily repression imposed by modernity. Anchored in Wilhelm Reich’s notion of the "armor"—a defensive structure of the body in response to repress—the research proposes the idea of "desvuduzar the armor," an expression used by Piva himself, as a metaphor for the liberation enacted by poetry. Through a dialogue between poetry, psychoanalysis, counterculture, and spirituality, it connects Reich’s thought with shamanic traditions and literary theory, positioning the poet as a shamanic figure, a seer or healer. The study analyzes the therapeutic and visionary elements in Piva’s poetics, especially in the “Poemas violetas da cura xamânica” (Violet Poems of Shamanic Healing), found in the book Ciclones (1997), where an erotic, ritualistic, and psychedelic dimension of language emerges. By integrating archaic and contemporary knowledge systems, the dissertation argues that Piva’s poetry functions as a space of transgression and subjective recomposition, in which desire, dreaming, and language act as instruments for the reinvention of both body and world.
