Resumo: This research aims the analyses of the laughter in the Hilda Hilst novel Com os meus olhos de cão. It also wants to comprehend how this gesture which is commonly associated with the frivolous and comic, could be pointed at a deep reflection on the worries of human existenceand finitude. This study also searches for the understanding of other aspects of the laughter which are not commonly studied by other literature academic researches. Ascertaining from its condition asa paradox representative of gesture, the imprints which gathers seeming opposites. Furthermore, the main investigation of this study is on how this gesture, as many philosophers studied previously, would be an sudden effect of the logic thinking impossibility and could point at madness, emptiness, ecstasy, death experience and animality in the novel being analyzed.
