The theme of this research is the presence of women as filmmakers in the field of animation cinema in the state of Pará, Brazil. Through the gathering, review, organization, and cross-referencing of data, we aim to document information about the cinematic journey undertaken by these filmmakers. The result is an overview of the filmography of female filmmakers from Pará, spanning from the mid-1970s to the early 2020s. In order to establish the parameters for delimiting the theme and analyzing the documents, the concepts of "intersectionality" and "circuit" were employed, following the propositions of Crenshaw and Magnani, respectively. An initial bibliographic survey was conducted, identifying academic texts addressing the topics of "cinema paraense", "animação paraense" or containing names of women and keywords related to the investigated themes, individuals, events, and locations. Building upon these references and exploring various archival sources and biographical narratives, three generations of women animation filmmakers in Pará were identified, aiming to highlight their contributions as authors and also as promoters of production in the state — whether by influencing public policies, cultivating audiences, or inspiring new generations in filmmaking. Through this historical and documentary research, considering women in the panorama of this cinematography, it is hoped that this work will stimulate and support future studies and systematizations that engage with the trajectory of women animation filmmakers in the state of Pará and the Northern Region of Brazil.
