This thesis aims to understand the dynamics of sexual diversity and gender management within state military institutions of public security through the trajectory of their transsexual professionals. Based on a multisituated ethnographic immersion and the theoretical contribution of studies on sexuality and Queer Theory. The research sought to scrutinize this (military) regime, observing how it is stylized according to professional practice (fireman and military police), and how it interweaves the dynamics of gender and sexuality, in addition to other social markers, to configure a subjectivities. The insertion and permanence of women, homosexuals and especially of transsexualities in these institutions revealed violent, macho, homo and transphobic interpersonal and institutional practices that alter professional careers, regulate and delegitimize belongings and actions. The analyzes indicate how military norms are based on gender norms (gender-gender) to structure their internal ordering; for military transsexuals the professional insertions can mean means of access to health, of questioning pathological assumptions about their own experiences and of social reintegration. On the other hand, these belongings should not be read as synonyms for the modernization of these institutions until they are tied to a review of their institutional political regimes and their ways of acting in society.
