This research aims to develop a study on the perspectives of the Terena People's Urbanization Movement, within the process of displacement and construction of the Marçal de Souza Urban Traditional Village in the municipality of Campo Grande/MS. Its purpose is to highlight the importance and challenges of the migration and urbanization of the Terena people, in a context of traditional deterritorialization and displacement to the city environment, being nationally recognized as the first Indigenous Urban Village in the country. This configuration suggests, in a first analysis, a series of adaptations and negotiations in the execution of public policies in the State of Mato Grosso do Sul, added to strategies of legitimization and local and municipal sociopolitical demands, as a form of resistance in a new space of construction of existence and reproduction of material life. Serious violations of rights can also be observed in relation to several peoples present in this same state, which is the third largest in terms of indigenous population in the country, who in some way also seek new ways of existing in the face of territorial dispossession and the need to inhabit urban space as a way of accessing essential public services. To develop this research, the ethnographic method was used as a guide and methodological contribution, aiming at the approach and experience in the fieldwork, in addition to the bibliographic systematization and other current normative references regulating this policy.
