A dança de siriri e suas possibilidades na escola : o modo como o aluno se identifica com a cultura popular local

Dance, a social practice marked by the culture of each group and society, when integrated into Physical Education, behaves as a relevant element of the body culture of movement. In this context, this research presents as a theme the pedagogical practice of Siriri dance, a dance that represents one of the greatest cultural symbols of the people of Mato Grosso. The study aimed to enable the pedagogical treatment of Siriri dance knowledge in a public school in Mato Grosso, as a relevant manifestation of the local culture. The research is based on a qualitative approach and takes as its central axis, in the theoretical and methodological scope, the Action Research, due to the possibility for the participants to act in a shared way in the production of knowledge and pedagogical actions. The research was carried out at the State School Professora Marlene Marques de Barros, located in the municipality of Várzea Grande - MT. The collaborating subjects of this study were students of the sixth and seventh years of Elementary School, 9 girls and 5 boys, in a total of 14 students, participants of the project “Knowing Siriri’s dance at school”, in which 15 dance classes were developed. As data collection instruments, we used the participant observation script and the entry and exit questionnaires, applied at the beginning and end of the actions, as well as the lesson plans. During the classes, there were records with images and videos made by the researcher's cell phone. All the information obtained through the data collection instruments were analyzed, discussed and based on the theoretical framework. In the literature, we find that the Siriri survives in the midst of the advancement of technological means and mass culture, as it has adopted new elements that contribute to its re-signification. The study highlights the need for more published works, including more teaching strategies to work with dance in Physical Education classes. The workshops proved to be rich moments of exchange between all those involved in the action. The students highlighted as the most relevant points the socialization, the moment of presentation, the dance classes and, above all, they understood all the representativeness that the Siriri dance carries as popular culture of the people of Mato Grosso. Finally, the research proved to be just one of the possibilities of dealing with the Siriri dance at school, as it signals the opening of the way for future research that will contribute to this theme. It was found that the presence of dance at school is linked to the teacher's willingness to contextualize it. The research actions at school are enriching, as the participating students perceived this experience in a positive way.
