The last decades of the XX century were marked by the process of universalization of the heritage. Since then, the architectural, archaeological heritage, landscapes, historical characters, traditions and customs have been the targets of public preservation policies. In João Pessoa, the Workshop-School of Revitalization of the Cultural Heritage, an integral part of the Historic Center Revitalization Process, has developed its activities for over twenty years, aligning the formation of young people with work and overcoming social problems. Based on the premise "Learning to do doing" has restored numerous monuments and has operated as a reference in the inclusion of the local population in the process of restoration of public spaces. This work aimed to understand how the João Pessoa Workshop-School, created to train young people to restore heritage, guided their actions along the years. The institution established itself as a space for educational action and formulated norms and practices that subsidized its formative project thus designing its trajectory. For the observation of these aspects we made use of the school culture perspective. Besides the physical intervention of the goods, the Workshop-School produced books and catalogs that created narratives about the history, the history of the heritage of João Pessoa and the trajectory of the institution. Thus, the institution is an important cooperator for the Heriage scenario in João Pessoa and Paraíba. In those years the institution formed and contributed to the preservation of cultural heritage through its agents.
