A topic like "Black Genocide: Reflections on Necropolitics and Racism Practices in Brazil and the Northeast" has the ultimate goal of investigating the exponential growth of homicides against black individuals, with their colonial origins and respective consequences on human dignity, human rights, and society. To achieve this, a methodology was employed, divided into two segments: qualitative and quantitative research. The first segment aims to comprehend the reality and origins that surround the issue of racial genocide, enabling a deeper exploration of the relationship between violence, racism, and the concepts of sovereignty, necropolitics, and biopower through data collection via bibliographic research, with a focus on the writings of Michel Foucault, Achille Mbembe, and Giorgio Agamben. The quantitative research, on the other hand, concentrated on building a database and creating descriptive statistics. In the first chapter, the discussion commences with a brief presentation of the theoretical framework used. In the second chapter, an attempt is made to revisit the theoretical conceptual foundations of race, subsequently observing the legacies left by colonialism that continue to underpin how the issue of race is perceived in Brazil today. In the third chapter, the discussion begins on cases of homicides of young black individuals, along with concepts related to genocide, alongside the internalization and dissemination of violence, in an approach that also interprets the issue of racism, as well as criminological practices in neoliberal governance. In the fourth chapter, the research is situated within fields of study related to power and narratives about inferior and superior bodies, as well as the role of law and the police, considering the problem of the black and peripheral population. Finally, in the fifth chapter, the results of data collection are presented, reflecting the scenario of high mortality rates in the Brazilian and Northeastern populations, especially among black individuals. The subsequent conclusion highlights the existing disparity between the number of violent deaths among black and white individuals, thus configuring a racial genocide in Brazil.
