Resumo: This thesis is an in-depth study of authorship in Pentecostal discourse, which began during our master's program in 2016, in the Graduate Program in Linguistics at the Federal University of Paraiba. At this stage, we focus on investigating the discursive construction of the presence of the sacred in the Pentecostal preaching of the Assemblies of God Churches. The general objective is to investigate the enunciative-discursive strategies used by the Pentecostal preachers to make the sacred manifest during the service. We used documentary research as a means of generating data. The corpus consists of three Pentecostal sermons from the Assemblies of God Churches, freely accessible on YouTube. All sermons were transcribed and later submitted to a process of identifying and describing the enunciative sequences in which the preachers used forms of inserting the discourse of sacred beings into their utterance. Then, we conducted interpretative analyses of the authorial movements to understand the function of inserting the voice of the other and the dialogical relationships that arise from it. Based on the analyzed data, we argue that authorship in Pentecostal religious preaching is constituted from an axiological position that appropriates and mobilizes the word of others to produce meanings that enable the discursive construction of the presence of the sacred during the service, in a constant process of experiencing revival. To do so, we based our study on the theoretical-methodological principles of Dialogic Discourse Analysis, relying on the notions of authorship, transmission process of the other's word, evaluative intonation, and discourse genre. Regarding the aspects inherent to the notion of the sacred, we drew on the ideas of Otto (2021) and Eliade (1989, 1992, 2010, 2016), critically articulating them with the notions of sign and sacred word present in Cassirer (2001, 2004, 2011, 2012, 2013), Bakhtin (2010, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2016), and Voloshinov (1930, 2017). As a result of the analyses, we identified that the Pentecostal preachers, as an author, use voices from the spiritual/sacred realm (the voice of God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the prophetic word, unknown tongues) to establish different dialogical relationships in order to construct, discursively, meanings of manifestations of the sacred during the service. We term such constructions as discursive hierophany. Considering Pentecostal preaching as a way of conceiving reality, we found out that the construction of the manifestation of the sacred is a constitutive element of this genre. For this reason, the preachers' authorship is constituted as they mobilize linguistio-stylistic resources to construct meanings that make it seem as though the sacred is manifesting during the service.
