Preconceito linguístico: estudo das crenças de estudantes da educação básica sobre a língua portuguesa

The vast intelectual production which is institutionalized in the Sociolinguistic field has been producing impact in the field of pedagogical practice. There is already the presence of a sociointeractional base in the conception of the language in national curriculum orientation and in didactic material. Analysing the most popular didactic pieces in editorial market and schools, is possible to realize that that is already some advance about the work with the heterogeneity of the language and even with the thoughts about the linguistic preconception. However, in our experience with the teaching of the portuguese language in several segments of basic education, an aspect has disturbed us very much: why, despite of the books and teacher's talking about diversity and preconception on the language, the idea of a superior linguistic mode still sound so roundly massified? Before this reality, we purpose, in this work, to analyze the presence of some beliefs that are still rooted – perhaps in the collective unconscious thoughts – of basic education students of both the public and private schools of Paraíba state's capital. Based on five of the eight myths that we're discussed by Bagno (2002), we have developed an instrument of collection of data that is made by objective questions containing twenty questions dealing with beliefs and convictions about the language, the grammar and the cult norm. For the data analysis we have used the software SPSS and for the discussion about preconception and linguistic intolerance we have based ourselves in the notion of tolerance developed by Bobbio (2004) and Comte-Sponville (2009). After the analysis of the quantitative results, we made a proposal of didactic intervention, aiming to deconstruct the beliefs that has shown more marked degrees of intensity.
