Resumo: | From a broader perspective, semiotic studies are the setting in which this research takes place, since the study is being developed in the Postgraduate Program in Literature in the Semiotic Studies research line. However, in a more specific sense, we will follow the theoretical-methodological paths on Literature in Libras traced by the British author Sutton-Spence (2021) and Peixoto (2023). The objective of this research is to analyze the regional expressions that contribute to the construction of meaning in works of cordel literature in Libras, aiming at a better understanding of this genre. This macro objective is divided into six specific objectives: 1- Present a sample of Libras cordels translated and created by deaf people; 2 - Identify the recurring theme that reveals the contents of the signed cordels; 3 - Describe how regional expressions, verbal and non-verbal, are presented in translated works of this literary genre; 4 - Describe how regional expressions, verbal and non-verbal, are presented in authorial works of this literary genre; 5 - Relate the regional verbal expressions identified in the works with the Small Bilingual Dictionary – Portuguese and Brazilian Sign Language – of Paraíba Speech (Aragão, 2023); 6 - Relate the regional non-verbal expressions identified in the works with the approach on technology and hybrid texts in Libras presented by Sutton-Spence (2021). The research is qualitative in nature and we started by collecting cordels in Libras recorded on video. The discussion based on the results obtained was directed towards the form of the works analyzed, since we focused on the intersemiotic relationship of the signed texts, aiming to contribute to a better understanding of the literary genre Cordel produced in Brazilian Sign Language (Libras). Among the results, we found an interesting piece of information: a cordel from Rio Grande do Sul translated into Libras, which proved that although cordel is mostly a literature that reflects the culture of the Brazilian Northeast, nothing prevents artists from other regions from also producing this literary genre; During the study, it was evidenced that both in cordels created and in cordéis translated by deaf people, the hybrid text format of these works was composed of regional verbal expressions in Libras, in Portuguese (through audio/subtitles) and by regional non-verbal expressions such as: images, woodcuts, costumes, editing effects. We hope that this research contributes to the emergence of new studies on this very important topic, that values Libras and deaf culture. |
