Com efeito, essa tecnologia tem provocado uma miríade de transformações sociais, desde a mudanças em padrões de consumo à autonomia de artefatos militares. Em termos das dinâmicas das relações internacionais contemporâneas, nota-se um retorno da competição entre grandes potências, no qual a busca pelo seu pioneirismo científico, capital humano qualificado e tensões no âmbito geopolítico e comercial têm tido destaque especial entre os EUA e a China. No que concerne ao setor militar, os avanços da computação e a velocidade na qual essa tecnologia processa grandes volumes de dados têm conferido mais efetividade e precisão para a indústria de defesa. Assim, o presente estudo exploratório busca identificar de que forma essa tecnologia emergente está situada no âmbito estratégico militar do hegemon, os EUA, e da China, cujo poder econômico e modernização das forças armadas merecem atenção nos Estudos de Segurança Internacionais. Em termos metodológicos, a execução desta pesquisa será pautada pela abordagem essencialmente descritiva, cujo caráter exploratório tem como principal ferramenta de coleta de dados a pesquisa documental e bibliográfica. A análise destes será efetuada com o uso da estatística descritiva e análise de documentos. Dessa forma, acredita-se que a presente pesquisa poderá contribuir com a compreensão da expansão dessa tecnologia emergente no âmbito estratégico dos Estados, sobretudo no que tange ao setor das forças armadas, bem como na literatura das Relações Internacionais, para ampliar as discussões teóricas e políticas sobre esse fenômeno corrente.CNPqThe present work deals with the following question: how is artificial intelligence inserted in the strategic military field of the USA and China? Indeed, this technology has brought about a myriad of social transformations, from changes in consumption patterns to the autonomy of military artifacts. In terms of the dynamics of contemporary international relations, there is a return to competition between great powers, in which the search for their scientific pioneering spirit, qualified human capital and tensions in the geopolitical and commercial spheres have been especially prominent between the USA and China. With regard to the military sector, advances in computing and the speed at which this technology processes large volumes of data have made the defense industry more effective and accurate. Thus, the present exploratory study seeks to identify how this emerging technology is situated within the military strategic scope of the hegemon, the USA, and China, whose economic power and modernization of the armed forces deserve attention in International Security Studies. In methodological terms, the execution of this research will be guided by the essentially descriptive approach, whose exploratory character has as its main data collection tool the documentary and bibliographic research. The analysis of these will be carried out using descriptive statistics and document analysis.
