Interessa a relação compartilhada entre os jovens da periferia e essa cultura performativa (musical, coreográfica, estilística e discursiva), a qual carrega, pela sua localização, marcadores sociais, econômicos, raciais e históricos constantemente criticados. O grupo Magnatas do Passinho S.A., do bairro de Santo Amaro, foi um interlocutor importante na pesquisa pelo seu empenho em fortalecer o movimento e pela representatividade que suscita entre a juventude e diversos públicos. Esclarece que, por meio do brega funk, "o povo da favela está reivindicando seus espaços", deixando a entender que a localização urbana dessa cultura é precisamente o vetor de emancipação dos numerosos estigmas que qualificam a periferia. Para contemplar esses eixos problemáticos, usou- se o método etnográfico com observação participante direta, entrevistas e análise de documentos acessíveis na internet, porque a pesquisa de campo coincidiu com a suspensão dos shows e os interditos de aglomeração na cidade devido à pandemia da covid-19. Numa primeira parte, após expor os métodos e técnicas da pesquisa de campo, discute-se a historiografia do brega funk na literatura especializada, com foco em suas influências culturais locais, nacionais e globais. Em segundo lugar, à luz da concepção decolonial e da sociologia da música inscrita numa perspectiva pós- moderna, discutem-se as relações dos bregueiros com as categorizações raciais, sociais e de subalternidade associadas à periferia, para a construção do seu próprio discurso identitário e localização sociocultural. Enfim, abordam-se as estratégias discursivas e performáticas que usam para afirmar sua identidade, sua criatividade e potencializar a sua (re)apropriação de forma a entender como o brega funk consegue ressocializar a periferia entre coletivos socioculturais heterógenos ao mesmo tempo em que a relocalizam.CAPESThis thesis aims to contribute to the ethnography of brega funk in the periphery of the metropolitan area of Recife/Pernambuco, focusing on the phenomenon through its appropriation in terms of resistance and identity. What counts is the relationship shared between the young people of the periphery and this performative culture (musical, choreographic, stylistic and discursive) which, by virtue of its location, bears historical colonial markers (social, economic and racial) without stop being criticized. The Magnatas do Passinho S.A. group, from the Santo Amaro district, has been an important interlocutor in the research due to its commitment to strengthening the movement and the representation it arouses among young people and different audiences. For them, through brega funk, “the people of the favela claim their spaces”, implying that the urban location of this culture is precisely the vector of emancipation from the many stigmas that qualify the periphery. In order to approach these problematic axes, the ethnographic method was used with direct participant observation, interviews and analysis of documents accessible on the Internet, not only because the field research coincided with the suspension of concerts and the ban on overcrowding in the city, but also to be a powerful instrument for the dissemination, reproduction and consumption of this culture. In the first part, after presenting the methods and techniques of field research, I approach the historiography of brega funk in the specialized literature, emphasizing its local, national and global cultural influences. Secondly, in the light of the decolonial perspective and the sociology of music inscribed in a postmodern perspective, I discuss the relations of the bregueiros with the racial, social and subordinate categories associated with the periphery, for the construction of their own identity and localization discourse socio-cultural.
