Music was and still is a topic of great sociological interest. Max Weber(1995) dedicated an entire work to the sociological understanding of making music, Georg Simmel(2003) had music as the subject of his thesis. In the southern half of Rio Grande do Sul(RS) on the border with Uruguay there is a unique scenario of linked musical production, there is a region that is the Pampa. Based on this, this research seeks to investigate the configuration of artistic works, in a procedural character, of a certain group of composers, on a border between Brazil and Uruguay, respectively the municipalities of Jaguarão and Rio Branco. The research problem dialogs with the one already presented: Did the social process configure the artistic work of a certain group of musical composers, in their poetic and rhythmic constructions, who live on the border between Jaguarão e Rio Branco? From this look at these composers, he intends to observe the long diachronic processes that configured this specific frontier and the Pampa gaucho.This figure, by the way, the gaucho, is essential in the process of trying to understand how the trajectories of the interviewied actors and their compositions were configurated. The general object will be try to understand how specific social process result in the artistic construction of musical composers in a specific region, using concepts such as sociogenesis and psychogenesis. Throughout the research, it is a matter of highlighting the composers, their artistic trajectories and the acknowledgments received by them, as well as the relationships they establish in the networks in wich they operate. The scope of their works, and the encodings that permeate them,were treated as importante points to be able to understand their social shape, in the specific region on the analyzed border, but also outside it. From this perspective, the questiono n the composeres was analyzes considering tue Eliasiana lens, thus mobilizing the long processes of configuration and interdependence. The triad. author-work-public, pointed out by Antônio Cândido was also very mobilized, trying to demonstrate the possibilities and limits faced by the group of composers analyzed.These concepts guided the research towards a qualitative analysis path, this was carried outwith support in research techniques such as conducting an interview with semi-structured script and documentary analysis.
