The work entitled, Amilcar Cabral and the period of the revolution for the Independence of Guiné-Bissau (1963- 1973), has as main focus, to approach on the sociological biography of Amílcar Lopes Cabral and to develop theoretically, the participation and contribution of this leader of the African party for the Independencea of Guinea and Cape Cape – PAIGC, in the process of the struggle for the Independence. Thesociological biography in this case, we analvzed through the bibliographical references available regarding his historical path, starting with his birth in the city of Bafatá i Guinéa-Bissau, the first moments of his childhood in the country, the to Cape Verde, his parentes country, and the whole course of his basic education, his higher education in agronomy in Portugal, and his return to his homeland Guinea-Bissau. In the second part of the paper, we talk about the importance and contribution of Amílcar Cabral in the processo of armed struggle for the Independence of this country. A pertinente moment that defined the destiny of the country, that is, Guinea-Bissau became independent and free from the Portuguese colonial regime as a resulto of na armad war that lasted eleven years at the end of the same year, the country was unilaterally independent from Portugal on September 24, 1924, proclaimed bv the then military man and presidente of the Republic, João Bernardo Nino Vieira, months after Cabral’s death.
