Desvendando emoções: o Museu Gruppelli, seus objetos e seu público

This research has as main objective to analyze the emotions expressed by the visitors in the exhibition context of the Gruppelli Museum, located in the rural area of the city of Pelotas/RS, and their meanings. During previous research carried out at the Museum, we noticed that the audience interviewed when relating to objects had not only memories and identities raised, but also emotions. Among the emotions mentioned by the interviewees we can mention: nostalgia, nostalgia, hope, pity, pity, joy, sadness. This experience led us to ponder what caused them and how important they are for the visiting public and for the preservation and diffusion of the museum itself. This research started from the hypothesis that the museal perception of the visiting public is the main contributory reason for the emergence of various emotions in itself, through the relationship they have with the objects exposed in the context of the museum space. As a methodological procedure, we use, above all, the interview (in person) and, equally, the observation of the researcher. We emphasize that the interviews were applied to Museum visitors, whether they were rural or urban residents, during the visitation. Through this path, we realize that emotional work is facilitated by the physicality of the objects that guide our analysis, the pestle and pot, and by the intertwining of these with other exposed objects. This research had its relevance insofar as it makes it possible to better understand the relationships that can be and are established between public, emotion, heritage and museum, since the exchange of these concepts is still little explored by the field of Social Memory and Museology. By understanding the possible relationships more clearly, we can open the way for new discussions and reflections and expand scientific knowledge, in addition to the possibility of reverting to the information obtained in this research for the public who visits the Gruppelli Museum, through their several communicative languages. A better understanding of the combination of these concepts can also help in the development and implementation of new public policies in the field of cultural heritage, contributing even more to their safeguard and diffusion.
