Defesa: Curitiba,27/08/2010Bibliografia: fls. 161-173Resumo: A pesquisa foca a Educação Ambiental (EA) em conexão com a Educação Física (EF). Seu objetivo foi analisar as relações e ações pedagógicas da EA com a EF e repercussões no cotidiano das aulas do 1º e 2º ciclos do ensino fundamental da rede pública municipal de Curitiba. Com base no referencial teórico sobre a EA e a relação da EA com a EF, realizou-se a pesquisa de campo, qualitativa, optando-se por um estudo de caso. A partir de investigação exploratória sobre projetos de EA, com a participação de professores de EF, foi selecionado o Projeto Escola&Universidade "Unir Esforços para a Sustentabilidade de uma Comunidade". Os dados foram levantados mediante entrevistas emi-estruturadas com a docente, observação participante das aulas e análise documental, abrangendo o Projeto, os planos de aula e as Diretrizes Curriculares (2006) municipais. O tratamento dos dados embasou-se no método de análise de conteúdo temático, segundo Bardin (1977), buscando os sentidos e significados pela docente e nos ocumentos quanto às inter-relações das práticas pedagógico-didáticas de EF com a EA. Os resultados revelaram: o entendimento da docente e suas práticas escolares de EF se respaldam na concepção desenvolvimentista; nas aulas do Projeto de EA, ela elacionou práticas pedagógicas com problemas socioambientais dos ambientes de vida dos alunos, no rumo de uma concepção mais progressista da EF, elacionada à dimensão cultural; mas sua prática escolar era pontual, já que a temática socioambiental não estava presente nas aulas cotidianas; a docente apresentou visão não-relacional e genérica de meio ambiente; e entendimento de EA, seguindo o senso comum da necessidade hodierna de se cuidar dos ambientes de vida, na linha de orientações estereotípico-conservacionistas; intencionalidade do Projeto em torno de mudanças de hábitos quanto ao lixo, por parte dos alunos e da comunidade do entorno escolar; verificou-se falta de unidade entre planejar e o agir pedagógicodidático e, nesse sentido, o trabalho do Projeto aconteceu de maneira mais multidisciplinar que interdisciplinar, predominando atividades gerais e de EF com ênfase de mudanças comportamentais individualistas dos sujeitos-alunos quanto ao trato do lixo, sem reflexão de acordo com o nível de maturidade dos educandos e, pois, mais no rumo da sensibilização do que conscientização cidadã; e constatação de uma avaliação espontaneísta, em torno de atividades. Entretanto, houve mudanças de comportamento dos alunos, do pessoal escolar e da comunidade, indicando um trabalho inovador e criativo nas relações entre EA e EF, bem como evidenciando potencialidades do Projeto na formação da cidadania socioambiental. Para tanto, faz-se necessária a formação inicial e continuada dos licenciandos e docentes de EF quanto à EA, numa perspectiva crítica, interdisciplinar e transversal; e a viabilização das relações da EA e EF na escola, a partir do Projeto Político Pedagógico, assim como acompanhamento dos projetos Escola&Universidade, de forma contínua e integrada pelas instituições universitárias responsáveis, a Secretaria Municipal da Educação e a equipe pedagógica da escola.Abstract: The research focuses on Environmental Education (EE) in connection with Physical Education (PE). The objective was to analyze teaching actions and relations between EE and PE and repercussions in the daily activities of the 1st and 2nd cycles of elementary education in public municipal school network of the city of Curitiba. Based on the theoretical reference on EE and the relationship existing between EE and PE, qualitative field research was undertaken, with the option being made for a case study. From exploratory investigation on EE projects, with participation by PE teachers, the Project selected was School&University "Joining Efforts for Community Sustainability". The data was collected by way of semi-structured with the teacher, participant class observation and analyzes of documents, covering the Project, class plans and municipal Curriculum Guidelines (2006). Data treatment was based on the analysis of theme-related content method, according to Bardin (1977), looking for significance and meaning from the teacher and in the documents in connection with the inter-relationships between the PE and EE teaching practices. The results revealed: that the teacher’s understanding and her PE teaching practices are acked by the developmental concept; in the EE Project classes, she related teaching practices to social and environmental problems in the lives of students, towards a progressive concept of PE, related to the cultural dimension; but her practice was a spot one within her teaching practice, since the social and environmental theme set was not present in the regular classes; the teacher showed a non-relational and generic view of the environment; and the understanding of EE, following the common sense of the current need for taking care of the environments in our lives, along the lines of current tereotypical-conservationists pproaches; the intentional aspect of the Project around changes in habits in connection with garbage, by the students and the community in the region around the school; it was observed there was a lack of unity between planning and teaching-pedagogic actions and, in this sense, the work in the Project occurred in a multi-disciplinary fashion, with a prevalence of general and PE activities with emphasis on achieving ndividual changes in behavior of the student subjects in the treatment of garbage, lacking any reflection matching the level of maturity of the students and, for this reason, more towards sensitizing than awareness raising for citizens; and observation of a spontaneous assessment with respect to the activities. However, there were observable changes in behavior of students, of school staff and the community, pointing to innovative and creative work in the relations between EE and PE, as well as bringing out the potential of the Project in creating social environmental citizenship.
