Defesa : Curitiba, 06/02/2018Inclui referências: p.179-189Resumo: Ao pensar a literatura de Nick Hornby, é possível apontar que o autor, a partir de suas próprias tragédias, estabelece um enredo em que o futebol é tratado como obsessão. Hornby parece lançar uma tese a esse respeito: a "febre de bola", que se poderia compreender enquanto a passionalidade (sobretudo clubística) que promove um amálgama entre viver e torcer, tornando-os elementos quase indistintos. A respeito desta febre futebolística esboçada pelo autor, o objetivo desta pesquisa é, portanto, analisar a relação estabelecida entre torcedor e clube, com base no amálgama entre memória e literatura, na autobiografia Febre de Bola. Sendo assim, de que forma a memória e a literatura auxiliam na construção da noção de febre de bola, desenvolvida por Nick Hornby, na obra homônima? Ou seja, de que forma a memória de um sujeito, junto à estética literária utilizada por este, auxiliam na construção de um elemento coletivo e passível de reverberação? A hipótese da presente pesquisa consiste em uma reapropriação de Febre de Bola, no sentido de legitimar as mudanças engendradas nos estádios ingleses, bem como de auxiliar na restauração da imagem do futebol da então recente Premier League. Ao que tudo indica - e é o que se pretende investigar também - há uma centralidade da obra em questão na literatura esportiva inglesa. Há a desconfiança de que tal obra influenciou não apenas uma nova forma de se falar sobre futebol, como também certo boom relacionado ao crescimento da produção de obras de cunho biográfico, sobre o esporte. Nick Hornby, escritor inglês, com inserção em Hollywood e autor de títulos como Alta Fidelidade, Um Grande Garoto e Uma longa queda, tornou-se conhecido graças à autobiografia Febre de Bola, o primeiro best-seller emplacado por ele. Com base na ideia de pensar texto e contexto na literatura, como aponta Antonio Candido e Raymond Willians, é possível identificar o problema do hooliganismo inglês, sobretudo na década de 1980, como o principal motivador da temática da obra, bem como elemento que se torna interno ao texto, na medida em que Hornby realiza um elogio ao torcedor comum - aquele que não é desregrado. A obra exerce, também, um papel de centralidade nas produções literárias inglesas de cunho esportivo, tendo em vista as reapropriações e ressignificações do livro, por parte dos jornais daquele país. Futebol inglês.Abstract: When thinking about the literature written by Nick Hornby, it is possible to point out that the author, from his own tragedies, establishes a plot in which football is treated as an obsession. Hornby seems to throw a thesis in this respect: the "fever pitch", which could be understood while the passion (mainly for the club) that promotes an amalgam between living and cheering, making them almost indistinct elements. The objective of this research is to analyze the relationship established between fan and club, based on the mixture between memory and literature, in the autobiography Fever Pitch. So, how do memory and literature help in the construction of the concept of fever pitch, developed by Nick Hornby, in the homonymous work? How does the memory of an individual, together with the literary aesthetics used, help in the construction of a collective element and subject to reverberation? The hypothesis of the present research consists in a reappropriation of Fever Pitch, in order to legitimize the changes engendered in the English stadiums, as well as to help in the restoration of the football image of the then recent Premier League. It seems that - and that is what we are trying to investigate as well - there is a centrality of the work of art in question in the English sports literature. There is a mistrust that such book influenced not only a new way of talking about football, but also a certain boom related to the growth of the production of biographical works on sport. Nick Hornby, an English writer with a Hollywood insight and author of titles such as High Fidelity, About a boy and A long way down, became known thanks to the autobiography Fever Pitch, the first bestseller he had published. Based on the idea of thinking text and context in literature, as Antonio Candido and Raymond Willians points out, it is possible to identify the problem of English hooliganism, especially in the 1980s, as the main motivator of the theme of this work of art, as well as the element that becomes internal to the text, to the extent that Hornby compliments the common fan - the one who is not unruly. The book also plays a central role in the English literary sports productions, in view of the reappropriations and resignifications of the autobiography, by the newspapers of that country.
