Defesa: Curitiba, 2006Inclui bibliografiaResumo: O presente trabalho tem como objetivo analisar a estruturação do espaço de representação do futebol em Curitiba, através das territorialidades construídas pelos atores sócio-espaciais do futebol, que se apropriam de elementos simbólicos. Propõe-se um diálogo entre a abordagem cultural em geografia, a teoria das representações sociais de MOSCOVICI (2003) e as formulações sobre o espaço de representação de LEFÉBVRE (1991), SOJA (1996) e GIL FILHO (2002 e 2003). Foi a partir de uma leitura das idéias destes autores que se formulou o conceito de espaço de representação do futebol, composto por diversos elementos, que se dividem em categorias centrais (fato futebolístico, prática social do futebol e poder), categorias de mediação (símbolo, mito moderno, discurso, identidade futebolística) e reinos (política institucional, ethos futebolístico e paixão/afetividade). Este conceito possibilita apreender o futebol não apenas como esporte, mas também como uma manifestação sócio-espacial e cultural. O futebol está presente de forma significativa no cotidiano dos brasileiros, paranaenses e curitibanos. Desta maneira, ele promove relações entre atores sócio-espaciais, dentro desta instância da espacialidade. Estes foram divididos, de acordo com a classificação de TOLEDO (2002), em profissionais, torcedores e especialistas. Os diferentes atores sócio-espaciais se apropriam dos elementos simbólicos do espaço de representação do futebol e formulam representações sociais. Eles se relacionam através de instituições. Os clubes são as instituições básicas do futebol brasileiro, pois são a partir deles que os atores sócioespaciais se relacionam. Os clubes se articulam com outras instituições (futebolísticas, públicas, empresas e outros clubes). Foram apresentados os diferentes elementos do espaço de representação do futebol em diversas escalas, partindo-se do Brasil até se chegar no Paraná e, especificamente, em Curitiba. A rede sócio-espacial do Coritiba Foot Ball Club, traçada a partir de entrevistas com atores sócio-espaciais do clube, demonstra a complexidade de relações dentro do espaço de representação do futebol de Curitiba-PR e que este está intimamente ligado com outros espaços representações do futebol, tais como o paranaense e o brasileiro. Os outros clubes da cidade – Clube Atlético Paranaense e Paraná Clube – também foram abordados, pois participam de maneira significativa da rede sócioespacial do Coritiba e na construção do espaço de representação do futebol em Curitiba.Abstract: The following work aims analyse the structure of the football representational space in Curitiba, through the territorial built by the football social-space actors, which owns symbolic elements. It's proposed a dialogue between the cultural board in geography, the MOSCOVICI’s (2003) social representations theory and the LEFÉBVRE’s (1991) formulations about the representational space, SOJA (1996) and GIL FILHO (2002 e 2003). It was from a lecture of the ideas of these authors wich formulated the concept of the football representational space, compounded by several elements, that is divided in central categories (footballing fact, social practice of football and power), mediational categories (symbol, modern myth, speech, footballing identity) and kingdoms (institucional politics, footballing ethos and passion/affection). This concept make possible to apprehend the football not only as sport, but also as a social-space and cultural manifestation. The football is present significantly in the everyday of the brazilians, paranaenses and curitibanos. This way, it's promoted relations between social-space actors, in this spacial instance. These were divided, according to TOLEDO’s (2002) classification, in professionals, supporters and experts. The different social-space actors own the symbolic elements of the football representational space and formulate social representations. They related to themselves throught institutions. The clubs are the basic institution of the brazilian football, and from them, the social-space actors relate to each other. The clubs articulate with other institutions (footballing, publics, enterprises and other clubs). It was presented the different elements of the football representational space in several scales, starting from Brazil until gets to Paraná and, specifically, in Curitiba. The Coritiba Foot Ball Club social-space network, traced trought interviews with social-space actors of the club, demonstrates the complexity of relations inside the foot ball representational space of Curitiba-PR and it's strongly connected with other football representational spaces, like the paranaense and the brazilian.
