Resumo: In this thesis we analyse the behavior of beam-columns with circular or annular cross sections under eccentric longitudinal load. The influence of the changes in shape of the elastic and the non-linearity of the stress-strain curves for both concrete and reinforcement steel is considered through numerical methods. A computer program for the numerical calculation was developed for plotting graphs used in the determination of bearing capacity of columns being studied. The basic assumptions are from the CEB-FIP Recommendations.

The basic assumptions are from the CEB-FIP Recommendations.Examina-se o problema da determinação da capacidade de carga das colunas de concreto armado com seções transversais em forma de círculo ou coroa circular, quando solicitadas por cargas axiais excêntricas. Os efeitos da variação da geometria da linha elástica e da não-linearidade dos diagramas tensão-deformação do concreto e do aço são analisados através de métodos numéricos. O processo de cálculo desenvolvido foi programado para utilização de um computador na construção de ábacos destinados à determinação da capacidade de carga das colunas em estudo.
