Resumo: | This work search for the appropriation and pedagogical traveling influences of Nestor dos Santos Lima in 1913 to 1923 years on his writing and intellectual practice during the First Republic. As a lawyer, historian, educator, Nestor Lima was a part of intellectual elite who thought about Rio Grande do Norte education in his time. He took important roles in primary education, general education and education management besides participating scientific and cultural institutions. The pedagogical traveling made by this intellectual in 1913 and 1923 was part of the official potiguar government. Their goals were the education’s organization of the State based on modern system. The set of sources analyzed constitute themselves, especially by official sources and educational reports and legislations, iconographic sources, newspapers and educational material besides Nestor Lima intellectual production writing. Our theoretical approach has it basis on the contribution by Michel Certeau about speech place, writing practice; by Roger Chartier with the notions of practices, representation, circulation and appropriation; and by Jean François Sirinelli starting from intellectual concepts and network of sociability. Through Carlo Ginzburg indiciary method, was possible find sings and clues of appropriation and influences of the pedagogical traveling in Nestor Lima’s intellectual production and in his professional practices. The sociability networks made by the intellectual were legitimizing his work in education area and strategies for the traveling, as well for the circulation of his pedagogical ideas. We could see the pedagogical traveling influences in Nestor Lima’s ideal construction of modernity education that is easily find in his writing and materialized in the regiments and also in Rio Grande do Norte educational legislation of the period. That way, our research was following Nestor Lima movement between his sociability spaces, the places he visited during his pedagogical traveling and his writing spaces. |

Advogado, historiador e educador, Nestor Lima integrou uma elite cultural que pensava a educação do Rio Grande do Norte nesse período. Assumiu funções importantes relativas ao ensino primário, ensino normal e gestão educacional, além de participar de instituições cientificas e culturais. As viagens pedagógicas realizadas por este intelectual nos anos de 1913 e 1923 fizeram parte de projetos oficiais do governo potiguar e tinham como objetivo a organização do sistema de ensino do Estado baseado em moldes modernos. O conjunto de fontes analisado constitui-se, principalmente, a partir de fontes oficiais, relatórios e legislação educacional, fontes iconográficas, jornais e impressos pedagógicos, além dos textos que compõem a produção intelectual de Nestor Lima. Nosso aporte teórico baseia-se nas contribuições de Michel de Certeau acerca do lugar de fala, prática e escrita; de Roger Chartier com as noções de prática, representação, circulação e apropriação; e de Jean François Sirinelli a partir dos conceitos de intelectual e rede de sociabilidade. Por meio do método indiciário de Carlo Ginzburg, foi possível identificar sinais e indícios da apropriação e da influência das viagens pedagógicas na produção intelectual e na prática profissional de Nestor Lima. As redes de sociabilidade construídas pelo intelectual foram legitimadoras de seu lugar no campo educacional e estratégia para a realização das viagens, bem como para a circulação das ideias pedagógicas. Percebemos a influência das viagens pedagógicas na construção do ideal de modernidade educacional de Nestor Lima que é evidenciada em sua escrita e materializada nos regimentos e na legislação educacional do período no Rio Grande do Norte.
