Resumo: This Research discusses and presents a process of the practical-interpretative for an interpretation of the piece The Fifth String by the Portuguese composer João Pedro Oliveira. The musical piece object of this research is for solo violin and electronics (Tape). For this, we use methodological tools such as bibliographic and phonographic review, structured interview with the composer and score analysis for performance planning and preparation. The results of this research are: considerations by the composer about the piece, considerations by the interpreter about the study process - theoretical, practical of the interpretation; and a recording of the performance of the piece. The Research also addresses a historical contextualization contemplating the history of the 20th century music and more specifically electroacoustic music, considerations about the expanded technique and teaching of extended technique in order to deal with the technical and didatical aspects present in the The Fifth String, and the composer's considerations about his works.

A peça objeto desta pesquisa é para violino solo e eletrônicos (Tape). Para isso, utilizamos ferramentas metodológicas como revisão bibliográfica e fonográfica, entrevista estruturada com o compositor e análise da partitura para planejamento e preparação da performance. Desta pesquisa resultam: reflexões do compositor sobre a obra, observações do intérprete sobre o processo de estudo - teórico, prático e da interpretação; e uma gravação da performance da obra.
