Understanding territorial dynamics presents itself as one of the tools that promote a strategic space of development not only through local travel, but with a global articulation beyond geographic and economic elements, as well as with cultural, political, social, anthropological and historical approaches to formation of a society. In this context, innovative entrepreneurship stands out as one of the means of promoting development today, a situation that places Geopark Araripe as the object of this research. The geopark presents itself as a primary object of cooperation for the protection of geological heritage, enabling geoscientific knowledge while promoting the sustainable development of locations and the actors and communities involved in their construction. The objective of this thesis is to understand how the socio-spatial interconnections between the actors of Geopark Araripe contribute to the formation of the Innovation System that leads to territorial development in the period between its formation and the present (2006-2023). The methodological basis has a qualitative characterization, using a non-systematic narrative review through participant observation. The study is based on the territorial recognition and valorization strategy presented by UNESCO, which stands in an innovative way by acting by integrating different actors, is based on the knowledge and learning generated (Lundvall, Borrás, 1997), and promotes facing global challenges ( Edler, 2016) and, within the neo-Schumpeterian vision, is based on localized and interactive learning, being the active local element for the creation and dissemination of innovative processes. Therefore, within the territorial and time frame (2006 – 2023) trained, the result has been the understanding that the actors, for the most part, and the innovative practices involved in conjunction with Geopark Araripe, are concentrated in the municipalities of the recognized area such as CRAJUBAR (Crato, Juazeiro do Norte and Barbalha). Furthermore, a survey showed that the focus of the Innovation System is configured in the tourism and creative economy production chain, materializing one of the defined pillars of the sustainable use of the territory in the configuration of geoparks. Thus, there is a need for a greater institutional connection that does not concern belonging to this territory, since the activities are technical in academic practices and in the setting of the management of the Araripe Geopark territory.
