The provision of health services is increasingly being supported by different technological solutions, such as Health Information Systems (SIS), Electronic Health Records (EHR) or solutions based on eHealth and mHealth. Such solutions bring benefits both from the point of view of Health Services management, as well as clinical monitoring and patient care and are used in different environments, such as hospitals, clinics, and laboratories, among others. Considering the diversity of types of solutions that can be used in the health context and the potential gain that can be obtained by integrating data from these different solutions, the creation of systems that facilitate the integration between solutions, such as Middleware, appear as an option. However, the review of the state of the art carried out in this work showed that the Middleware Platforms for Health Information Systems are focused on specific areas and do not use open interoperability standards that facilitate the development and exchange of information from different clinical data, such as the HL7 F HIR. It is based on this context that this work describes a Middleware Based on the HL7 F HIR Standard for Health Information Systems. In this sense, throughout the work, the requirements of the solution will be described, as well as details of its architecture and implementation, resulting in the realization of two Proofs of Concept carried out with 7 health applications integrated from the Middleware developed.
