Resumo: The increasing changes and restructuring experienced by museums, cultural centers and educational services since the second half of the twentieth century have significantly impacted the social, educational and representative aspects in society. These transformations have changed the way institutions are perceived by the public and led to the articulation of their work with the community and the territory. This is done based on the dissemination of cultural information and the implementation of cultural mediation strategies, which aim to create inclusive, participatory, dynamic and reflective spaces for dialogue. In this sense, this dissertation work consists of an analysis of cultural mediation of the Conviv'Art Gallery - cultural equipment of the Center for Art and Culture (NAC) of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) - by exploring dialogues and strategies to expand the access of the university community to the artistic exhibitions held in the cultural space. Therefore, its general objective is to reflect on the importance of cultural mediation as an essential resource to promote gallery access and knowledge. The specific objectives are: to characterize the Conviv'Art Gallery and its respective historical-organizational and cultural elements, to identify the main factors that contribute to the low visitation of the public and to develop an intervention proposal to stimulate the participation of the university public in the gallery's events. The methodological path relied on empirical research that was theoretically based on statements by authors such as Strey (2002); Perrotti; Pieruccini (2014); Rasteli; Cavalcante (2014); Araújo et al (2020), among others, with the reading of articles from journals, books and databases such as Scopus, Scielo, Brapci, Google Scholar. A questionnaire was applied (10 objective questions and 01 subjective question at the end), directed to the institutional public, from which information was collected from 560 respondents, which characterized an exploratory, descriptive, quantitative and qualitative research. Through content analysis, 4 categories of analysis were created: Recognition and Disclosure; Logistics and Accessibility; Programming and Complementary Activities; Strengthening the Relationship with the Academic Community. The Intervention Proposal contributes with the products entitled MediArte: Connection and Dialogue Strategies at the Conviv'Art Gallery, which proposes strengthening the dialogue between art and academia is fundamental to strengthening the gallery as a space for training, expression and intellectual development, contributing significantly to the construction of a critical and participatory society. It concludes by highlighting the importance of cultural mediation in art galleries within the University, as an environment conducive to enhancing the capacity to discover, create and innovate knowledge.

Essas transformações têm alterado a forma como as instituições são percebidas pelo público e levado discussões do seu trabalho com a comunidade e o território. Isso é feito com base na divulgação de informações culturais e implementação de estratégias da mediação cultural, que visam criar espaços de diálogo inclusivos, participativos, dinâmicos e reflexivos. Nesse sentido, este trabalho dissertativo consiste numa análise de mediação cultural da Galeria Conviv’Art - equipamento cultural do Núcleo de Arte e Cultura (NAC) da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) - ao explorar diálogos e estratégias para ampliar o acesso da comunidade universitária às exposições artísticas realizadas no espaço cultural. Portanto, tem como objetivo geral refletir sobre a importância da mediação cultural como recurso essencial para promover o acesso e conhecimento da galeria. Os objetivos específicos são: caracterizar a Galeria Conviv’Art e seus respectivos elementos históricoorganizacional e cultural, identificar os principais fatores que contribuem para a baixa visitação do público e desenvolver uma proposta de intervenção para estimular a participação do público universitário aos eventos da galeria. O percurso metodológico contou com uma pesquisa empírica que embasou teoricamente com colocações de autores como Strey (2002); Perrotti; Pieruccini (2014); Rasteli; Cavalcante (2014); Araújo et al. (2020), dentre outros, com a leitura de artigos de periódicos, livros e bases de dados como Scopus, Scielo, Brapci, Google Acadêmico. Aplicou-se um questionário (10 perguntas objetivas e 01 pergunta subjetiva ao final), direcionado ao público institucional, do qual coletou-se informações de 560 respondentes, o que caracterizou uma pesquisa exploratória, descritiva, quantitativa e qualitativa. Por meio da análise de conteúdo foram criadas 4 categorias de análise: Reconhecimento e Divulgação; Logística e Acessibilidade; Programação e Atividades Complementares; Fortalecimento da Relação com a Comunidade Acadêmica. A Proposta de Intervenção contribui com o produto intitulado MediArte: Estratégias de Conexão e Diálogo na Galeria Conviv’Art, no qual propõe o fortalecimento do diálogo entre arte e academia, fundamental para avivar a galeria como um espaço de formação, expressão e desenvolvimento intelectual, contribuindo expressivamente na construção de uma sociedade crítica e participativa.
