Resumo: The aim of this work was to evaluate the effect of the interaction between Rhizobium inoculation and nitrogen fertilization at sowing in common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.). The study was constituted of two field experiments with the cultivar Carioca, on the campus at the University Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro, Horticulture sector, in the city of Serop?dica-Rj, in the year 2012. The first, in the dry season, had three treatments: inoculation and nitrogen (N) fertilized at sowing (20 kg N ha-1), only inoculation at sowing, and only N fertilized at sowing (20 kg N ha-1). In the second, in the rainy season, it was included an additional treatment without the use of nitrogen fertilizer at sowing or inoculation. At 25 days after sowing (DAS), as recommended by Vieira (1998), all treatments have received a complementary fertilization with 40 kg ha-1 N. At the pollination stage, It was evaluated the dry weight of shoot and root, and the number and dry weight of nodules. For both essays, it was obtained a higher dry weight of shoot in the fertilized and inoculated treatment, and the number and dry weight of nodules were similar to the treatment only inoculated. At maturity, in both seasons, the highest number of pods per plant, seeds per pod and grain yield the highest, were obtained in the treatment fertilized and inoculated, and inoculated treatments only and only fertilized did not differ significantly, but treatment of control was lower all components analyzed. The yield obtained in the rainy season was lower than in the dry season because the high temperatures at the flowering stage. In addition, for both experiments, leaf tissue was collected for determination of soluble proteins, in four developmental stages (before fertilization at 25 DAS, pollination, flowering and grain filling), with the highest values observed at the flowering stage. At the rainy season, the fertilized and inoculated treatment had higher leaf soluble protein content than the only inoculated treatment at 20 DAS and at flowering stages, which can increase photosynthetic activity and the higher growth obtained in this treatment. Therefore, the inoculation of rhizobia at sowing can replace nitrogen fertilization with 20 kg N ha-1 at sowing without loss of productivity. Furthermore, the inoculation with rhizobia, added fertilization with 20 kg N ha-1 at sowing, did not inhibit nodulation and propitiated increased productivity.

Submitted by Jorge Silva (jorgelmsilva@ufrrj.br) on 2020-02-14T17:56:07Z No. of bitstreams: 1 2013 - Rodrigo Luiz Neves Barros.pdf: 607580 bytes, checksum: c88619dea3b715b5688db17503d60a4a (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2020-02-14T17:56:07Z (GMT).
