Resumo: This study aimed to evaluate the performance of three different anti mycotoxin additives (AMA) based on yeast cell wall (YCW) in performance of broiler chickens intoxicated with aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) until 21 days of age. The products were identified as the AMA A (100% YCW strain A), AMA B (100% YCW strain B) and AMA C (70 % YCW strain A + 30% bentonite). The experimental design was randomized blocks, with treatments of each analysis consisting of: T01 (aflatoxin free diet), T02 (0.2% AAM), T03 (1.012 mg Kg -1 AFB1) and T04 (1.012 mg Kg -1 AFB1 + 0.2% AAM). The parameters evaluated were body weight, weight gain, feed intake, feed conversion, absolute organ weight, intestine length, relative weight and histopathology of liver and kidneys, and blood biochemistry analysis - aspartate amino transferase, alanine amino transferase, uric acid and total protein. 1.012 mg Kg -1 of AFB1 in the diet of broilers in this study could negatively alter the performance parameters and affect the concentration of uric acid, lower absolute weight of lymphoid organs, apparent increase in length intestines, liver fatty degeneration and the emergence of scattered areas of necrosis in liver and renal tubular nephrosis. And at the same conditions, the AMA 1 and AMA 2 (0.2%) attenuated these effects, except for a decrease in weight of lymphoid organs. AAM C failed to mitigate the effects. A mixture of organic and inorganic AMAs probably contains insufficient amounts of both products, or interaction prevented the adsorption of AFB1 in broiler?s diet. This study confirms the negative effects that aflatoxins cause to broiler chickens and suggests additives based on YCW as good alternative, with attention to the fact that the yeast strain interferes with the quality of the AMAs; and demonstrates the negative effect of mixtures of inorganic and organic AMAs. More studies should be conducted on the subject to clarify the action mechanism of these additives, including in vivo studies with AMAs and co-occurrence of mycotoxins, and evaluate the mycotoxin presence in faeces, meat and eggs.

Submitted by Jorge Silva (jorgelmsilva@ufrrj.br) on 2019-11-14T18:06:57Z No. of bitstreams: 1 2014 - ?guida Aparecida de Oliveira.pdf: 2017755 bytes, checksum: 3cf9ea4a81a5aa48b3bd816e522b6288 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2019-11-14T18:06:57Z (GMT).
