Resumo: This study aims to propose the soil use planning at Nilo Pe?anha stream watershed in Pinheiral/RJ and prepare an action plan by studying the soils suitability for agriculture. The chosen watershed has an area of 33.9 hectares, being representative of the morphological feature of the region, and is part of the Pinheiral Campus of the Federal Institute of Rio de Janeiro (IFRJ), located in the Middle Paraiba do Sul region. The predominant vegetation is pasture with frequent presence of exposed soil. The soils descriptions (Ultisol + Oxisoil, Ultisol, Ultisol Red + Yellow, Cambisol, Haplic Planosol and Haplic Gleysol), chemical analysis and clothing maps were obtained with based on secondary data literature, computer programs Arc Info and Arc Gis 9.3 and institutional database such as the Normative Procedures for Soil Survey (Embrapa, 1995) and Vector Topographic Chart of the Systemic Mapping of the city of Pira? (# 2744-1) in the scale of 1:50.000 (IBGE, 2011). Through GIS based on IBGE charts were generated slope, elevation and planimetric maps. These maps and pedological description data and chemical analysis were used to generate thematic maps of soil classes, soils suitability for agriculture, permanent preservation areas (PPA) and legal reserve (LR). After the interpretation of analytical data and soil classification, the design of mapping units for formatting the watershed soil map was made. With the help of the soil map, it proceeded to the demarcation of the different units of land suitability for agricultural use. The PPA and LR accounted for 64.7% of the total area of the watershed. For the farmer in the region, this means to stop planting in areas with good aptitude for agriculture. Alternatively, it would remain the use of more sustainable management practices in environmental terms as the agroforestry systems, allowed by Brazilian law for use at APP and RL.

A cobertura vegetal predominante ? de pastagem com presen?a frequente de solo exposto. As descri??es dos solos (PAd - Argissolo Amarelo + Latossolo Amarelo, PVd - ArgissoloVermelho, PVAd - Argissolo Vermelho + Amarelo, CXbe - Cambissolo H?plico, SXal - Planossolo H?plico e GXbe - Gleissolo H?plico), an?lises qu?micas e confec??es de mapas foram obtidas com base em dados secund?rios de literatura consultada, programas computacionais Arc Info e Arc Gis 9.3 e banco de dados institucionais como os Procedimentos Normativos para levantamento Pedol?gico, Embrapa 1995 e Carta Topogr?fica Vetorial do Mapeamento Sist?mico de Pirai (n? 2744-1) na escala 1:50.000, IBGE 2011. Atrav?s de geoprocessamento com base nas cartas do IBGE, foram gerados mapas de declividades, altitudes e planim?trico. Esses mapas e os dados de descri??o pedol?gica e an?lise qu?mica foram usados para gerar mapas tem?ticos de classes de solos, aptid?o das terras, ?reas de preserva??o permanente (APP) e reserva legal (RL). Ap?s a interpreta??o dos dados anal?ticos e classifica??o dos solos, realizou-se o delineamento das unidades de mapeamento para formata??o do mapa de solos da microbacia. Com o aux?lio do mapa de solos, procedeu-se a demarca??o das diferentes unidades de aptid?o agr?cola das terras.
