Resumo: | THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MEAN WORM-BURDEN, FEMALE/MALE RATIO AND THE NUMBER OF EGGS PER FEMALE IN POPULATION OF Cooperia spp. IN CALVES FRIESIAN HOLSTEIN AND FRIESIEN HOLSTEIN X GUZERA CROSSES Forty calves of the breeding types Holstein-Friesian Red (HVB) crossed with Guzer? were used in this study and were obtained from the National Centre for Dairy Cattle Research (CNPGL - EMBRAPA), municipality of Marques de Valen?a, Rio de Janeiro State. Analyses were made of the relation between mean worm burden, female/male ratio, and the number of eggs per female of Cooperia spp., within and between the breeding types. The F 1 group (1/2 HVB) carried the lowest mean burden of helminths and the female/male ratio was more significant than in the HVB or other groups. The number of eggs per female did not present significant differences. 81 analysis. The group HVB showed intermediate values on Some observations on the dynamics of the worm burdens are presented. In the genus Cooperia, C. punctata v. Linstow, 1907 and C. spatulata Baylis, 1938 were observed, the latter species is recorded for the first time in South America. |

Linstow, 1907 and C. spatulata Baylis, 1938 were observed, the latter species is recorded for the first time in South America.Utilizando 40 bezerros de seis graus de sangue (HVB x Guzer?) provenientes do Centro Nacional de Pesquisas de Gado de Leite (CNPGL) - EMBRAPA, munic?pio de Marqu?s de Valen?a, Estado do Rio de Janeiro, foram realizadas an?lises da rela??o entre a carga m?dia encontrada, raz?o f?mea/macho e o n?mero de ovos por f?mea para cada grau de sangue, para o g?nero Cooperia. O grupo F 1 (1/2 HVB) apresentou a menor carga de helmintos, bem como, a raz?o f?mea/macho mais significativa do que o grupo HVB e os demais grupos. O n?mero de ovos por f?- mea n?o apresentou diferen?as significativas. O grupo HVB apresentou valores intermedi?rios para os aspectos analisados. Algumas observa??es preliminares sobre a din?mica das cargas s?o apresentadas. Foram identificadas, no g?nero Cooperia, as esp?cies C. punctata v. THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MEAN WORM-BURDEN, FEMALE/MALE RATIO AND THE NUMBER OF EGGS PER FEMALE IN POPULATION OF Cooperia spp. IN CALVES FRIESIAN HOLSTEIN AND FRIESIEN HOLSTEIN X GUZERA CROSSES Forty calves of the breeding types Holstein-Friesian Red (HVB) crossed with Guzer? were used in this study and were obtained from the National Centre for Dairy Cattle Research (CNPGL - EMBRAPA), municipality of Marques de Valen?a, Rio de Janeiro State. Analyses were made of the relation between mean worm burden, female/male ratio, and the number of eggs per female of Cooperia spp., within and between the breeding types. The F 1 group (1/2 HVB) carried the lowest mean burden of helminths and the female/male ratio was more significant than in the HVB or other groups. The number of eggs per female did not present significant differences. 81 analysis. The group HVB showed intermediate values on Some observations on the dynamics of the worm burdens are presented. In the genus Cooperia, C. punctata v. Linstow, 1907 and C. spatulata Baylis, 1938 were observed, the latter species is recorded for the first time in South America. |
