Resumo: This study aimed to evaluate the reduction of levels of vitamin D3 used on commercial premix, and supplementation with 1,25-dyhydroxycolecalciferol (1,25(OH)2D3) on broiler feed from 7 to 42 days and the effect on performance parameters and bone quality. Were raised 1400 male broilers chickens, Cobb, in a randomized design with 6 treatments and 6 repetitions (100%, 75%, 50%, 25% e 0% of vitamin D3 on premix added 50g/ton of 1,25(OH)2D3).The data was submitted to ANOVA, and on case of significant result, the averages compared by the Dunnet test (p <0.05). According to the obtained results were possible to conclude that the performance and bone quality of broilers were affected by the different level reduction?s of vitamin D on premix, supplemented with 50g/ton of 1,25(OH)2D3, being that influence dependent of growing phase. Also, the reduction of 75% on the vitamin level added with 1,25(OH)2D3 was capable of keep the performance parameters (weight, feed conversion, and feed intake) according with recommended parameters from Cobb manual line, and the bone quality similar to control treatment at 21 and 42 days old. The carcass yield and noble cuts weren?t influenced by the reduction of the vitamin level supplemented with 1,25(OH)2D3, however, the utilization of 1,25(OH)2D3 as only source of vitamin D, on the tested quantity, impaired the performance, slaughter weight and carcass, in addition to worsen the bone quality evaluated by ash % and bone resistance to breakage on all ages tested. More analyses, as metabolite or similar dosage on blood and organs would be necessary for attesting the range of effectiveness of 1,25(OH)2D3 on the vitamin D levels tested. As well as an economical evaluation of the vitamin D level reduction and 1,25(OH)2D3 supplementation

Foram criados 1400 pintos de corte machos, linhagem Cobb, em delineamento inteiramente casualizado com 6 tratamentos e 6 repeti??es (100%, 75%, 50%, 25% e 0% de vitamina D3 no premix adicionados de 50g/ton de 1,25(OH)2D3). Os dados foram submetidos a analise de vari?ncia e em caso de signific?ncia as m?dias contrastadas pelo teste de Dunnet (p<0,05). De acordo com os resultados obtidos nesse trabalho foi poss?vel concluir que, o desempenho e a qualidade ?ssea de frangos de corte foram afetados pela redu??o de diferentes n?veis vitamina D, no premix, suplementados com 50g/ton de 1,25(OH)2D3 sendo que essa influ?ncia foi dependente da fase de cria??o. Tamb?m, que a redu??o de 75% no n?vel de vitamina D3 do premix adicionada do 1,25(OH)2D3 foi capaz de manter os par?metros de desempenho zoot?cnico (peso, convers?o alimentar e consumo), dentro dos padr?es recomendados pelo manual da linhagem, al?m da qualidade ?ssea similar ao tratamento controle, aos 21 e 42 dias. Os rendimentos de carca?a e de cortes nobres n?o foram influenciados pela redu??o do n?vel de vitamina D3 do premix, suplementado com o 1,25(OH)2D3, entretanto, a utiliza??o do 1,25(OH)2D3 como fonte ?nica da D, na quantidade testada, prejudicou o desempenho zoot?cnico, o peso ao abate e de carca?a al?m de ter piorado a qualidade ?ssea avaliada pelo percentual de cinza e pela resist?ncia ?ssea ? quebra em todas as fases da cria??o dos frangos. Mais analises tais como dosagens do metab?lito ou similares no sangue e ?rg?os necessitariam ser realizadas para comprova??o da amplitude de efic?cia do 1,25(OH)2D3 sobre os n?veis de vitamina testados. description This study aimed to evaluate the reduction of levels of vitamin D3 used on commercial premix, and supplementation with 1,25-dyhydroxycolecalciferol (1,25(OH)2D3) on broiler feed from 7 to 42 days and the effect on performance parameters and bone quality. Were raised 1400 male broilers chickens, Cobb, in a randomized design with 6 treatments and 6 repetitions (100%, 75%, 50%, 25% e 0% of vitamin D3 on premix added 50g/ton of 1,25(OH)2D3).The data was submitted to ANOVA, and on case of significant result, the averages compared by the Dunnet test (p <0.05). According to the obtained results were possible to conclude that the performance and bone quality of broilers were affected by the different level reduction?s of vitamin D on premix, supplemented with 50g/ton of 1,25(OH)2D3, being that influence dependent of growing phase. Also, the reduction of 75% on the vitamin level added with 1,25(OH)2D3 was capable of keep the performance parameters (weight, feed conversion, and feed intake) according with recommended parameters from Cobb manual line, and the bone quality similar to control treatment at 21 and 42 days old. The carcass yield and noble cuts weren?t influenced by the reduction of the vitamin level supplemented with 1,25(OH)2D3, however, the utilization of 1,25(OH)2D3 as only source of vitamin D, on the tested quantity, impaired the performance, slaughter weight and carcass, in addition to worsen the bone quality evaluated by ash % and bone resistance to breakage on all ages tested. More analyses, as metabolite or similar dosage on blood and organs would be necessary for attesting the range of effectiveness of 1,25(OH)2D3 on the vitamin D levels tested. As well as an economical evaluation of the vitamin D level reduction and 1,25(OH)2D3 supplementation
