Resumo: From the hexane extract of the roots of Parahancornia amapa, Apocynaceae, were isolated and identified stigmasterol (1), sitosterol (2), sitosterone (3), the pentacyclic triterpenes : lupeol (4), a-amirine (5), b-amirine (6), their acetyl derivatives (7, 8 and 9), and the 3 b-O-acyl-lupeol esters (10, 11 and 12). The 3'-hydroxyl group in 11 was confirmed by the acetyl and oxidation derivates. The analysis by CG-MS of the methyl esters obtained by hidrolysis and methylation led us to identify the acyl units of the esters (10a-10j, 11a-11e and 12a). Compounds 1, 2, 3 have not been previously detected in Parahancornia genus. The esters 10A-10D, 10F, 10H, 11A and 12A have not been previously registered in the literature. Solvent partition and chromatographic fractionation of the wood's hexane extract of Pinus caribaea var. bahamensis afforded dehydroabietic acid and isopimaric acid. These acids have not been previously detected in this species. The IR, 1H and 13C-NMR and Mass Spectral data of the natural compounds and derivatives were used to identify the substances.

A hidr?lise dos ?steres e posterior metila??o com diazometano forneceu a mistura de ?steres met?licos cuja an?lise com cromatografia de g?s acoplada a espectr?metro de massas permitiu caracterizar as cadeias das unidades acila e identificar os ?steres 10A-10J, 11A-11E e 12A-12B. O grupo hidroxila no carbono 3'dos ?steres (11) foi confirmado pela prepara??o do derivado acetilado e pelo produto de oxida??o do composto natural. As subst?ncias 1, 2 e 3 est?o sendo registradas pela primeira vez no g?nero Parahancornia. Os ?steres 10A-10D, 10F, 10H, 11A e 12A est?o sendo registrados pela primeira vez na literatura. O fracionamento cromatogr?fico e cristaliza??o das fra??es do extrato hex?nico da madeira de Pinus caribaea var. bahamensis forneceu o ?cido isopim?rico (?cido isopimara -7,15- dien-18-?ico) (13) e o ?cido deidroabi?tico (?cido abieta-8,11,13-trien-18-?ico) (14).
