The present master?s dissertation project has as objective, to present thoughts about cultural politics in face of the touristic activity in the city of Petr?polis in Rio de Janeiro. This relation could present ways to analyze the directions of the religious heritage?s management, planned in the Petropolis township. The usage of heritage as a touristic attractive, works as an approach to ally the dissemination and valorization of the traditional culture with the willing to develop, economically and socially, those benefits that come within the tourism activity. The reality observed in the management of this situation, exposes a governmental attempt to create work groups formed by actors related to those religious monuments, as means to capitalize public investments derived from the tourism ministry. On the other hand, this attempt contributes in the exclusion of those social groups with less representability, that are deeply related to the religious monuments selected by the tour of Churchs and Chapels. In addition, the idea of the tour mentioned, represents a way of thinking those monuments as cultural products, directed to financial purposes. The inclusion of actions directed to society empowerment, with more popular involvement, solving public demands of any groups and not only those with more influence, becomes a relevant initiative. It is also relevant to present the necessity of interaction between the religious institution and the private companies, after a inexistence of this kind of exchange. The production of cultural politics and tourism dedicated to the religious heritage of the city, represented by its religious itinerary, puts in check the efficiency of public management.
