Through the studies of Discourse Analysis (DA), the research analyzed the process of identifying the "good subject" and "bad subject" from the encyclical Fratelli Tutti (2020) of Pope Francis, observing the ideological formation and the discursive formations and the discursive categories that emerged throughout the analyses. The general objective of this work is to analyze ideology and its identification process from the point of view of a specific type of subject that permeates the discourse of the encyclical Fratelli Tutti. The research has as its general objective: to analyze ideology and its identification process in the vision of a type of specific subject that permeates the discourse of the encyclical Fratelli Tutti. The specific objectives are: 1) to analyze the Ideological Formation (IF) and identify the "good subject" and the "bad subject"; 2) to search in the identification the subject that is formed; To select other Discursive Formations (FD) present; 3) to highlight the Pope's purpose when writing the encyclical; 4) To highlight the purpose of the pope in writing the encyclical. For this, the methodology of the work was based on the book Discourse Analysis: Principles and Procedures by Orlandi (2015), in which the discourse analyst has interpretation as an analysis device. The method in practice obeyed the order formatting of the chapters of the encyclical analyzed.The interpretation was based on the words or statements highlighted in each corpus. During the analysis, there was a conversation with the concepts of AD and with other clarifications that the words or statements elucidated. This research is based on the theoretical and methodological assumptions of Discourse Analysis (DA), based on the perspectives of Michel Pêcheux, referenced by Orlandi (2015), as well as other AD theorists. After all the study, I conclude that the letter reports a subject who is counter-identified with the Catholic religious precepts, a "bad subject", but through the teachings of the letter this subject can come to identify himself and become a "good subject".
