The communication of species is subject to aspects and factors present in the environment that tend to degrade the signals emitted, being biotic or anthropic factors, such as traffic noise. For road ecology, in Brazil, there are few studies that evaluate the effect of traffic noise on the vocalization of anurans. In this sense, this work evaluated the effect of traffic noise on the vocalization of bromeliad anuran, Phyllodytes melanomystax (Caramaschi, Silva, and Britto- Pereira, 1992). The study was conducted in the Serra de Itabaiana National Park (PNSI), in a fragment near the BR-235. Continuous transects of 800m were evaluated, from the side of the highway to the interior of the PNSI, where data on sound intensity (dB), type of vegetation and song record of the species were collected. The results show a decrease in the duration of the species' song in areas closer to the highway. Changes in decreasing the duration of singing may indicate strategies to mitigate the effects of disturbance. In addition, this study brings new information about the vocal repertoire of the species, with the description of new notes.
